Haven't you learned this is part of the game.

It depends...is this the fun part? To me its a bunch of over reacting nerds......

I can already see thats going to be a kick *** chewie...

Never said it was a fun game. Different players same roles. Some don't know that they're playing. Others are just along for the ride.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Star Wars: Episode VII - Han & Chewbacca Collectible Figure

You guys are key to all this as well. The "wise" patient nerds who have seen it all before and can overlook glaring errors apparently from proto to production that have made the figure look even less like the source material.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Star Wars: Episode VII - Han & Chewbacca Collectible Figure

Yeah, there's no amount of patience or futzing that's going to fix that face. The proto itself looks nothing like any version of Chewie, and the production fig is seemingly even worse than that.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Star Wars: Episode VII - Han & Chewbacca Collectible Figure

This is an odd release with it seems like just one guy has the figure...but I'm all in for the figure. I hope we get more pics where Chewie doesn't look like he just partied all night after blowing up the Death Star and has a massive hangover.

Starting to wonder if the "actor likeness" issue supposedly delaying this release is Chewie, and all of (or the one) production sample(s) they received that made them halt the presses were sent to the Japanese market to make up for Japan's generally poor treatment of the Chinese across history...

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Star Wars: Episode VII - Han & Chewbacca Collectible Figure

Why did they futz the figure that way..am I missing something because I went back to the film and 95% of Chewy's hair was slicked down and calm :slap

What's wrong with the out of box hair..I don't see anything that needs futzing :dunno

Cocaine's a hell of a drug.

Well the facial hair application and color seems to be an improvement over the ANH release, as well as the lack of pink lipstick. The likeness is completely missing. I agree it looks like a dog. Futz the hair all you want it won't help.

Yes, the first shots of ANH chewie were horrible as well. and people (myself included) complained about the likeness. Pulling ANH Chewies hair away from his chin did wonders. However even with some hair color changes and a lot of futzing around the eyes, repainting the nose and lips still doesn't make him look perfect because the underlying shape is wrong. This one looks to be even worse.

I'll wait for some in hand pics after futzing to make the final call, but I'm not the slightest optimistic.

For the price of these, we should not have to do anything except maybe run a comb through him.

Yeah it's going to take some incredible futzing I think to downplay the size of the muzzle and the general dog-like appearance it seems to have.

It's always like this with contentious looking figures....some think it looks like crap and others like it or see a lot of potential. In my experience with figures, I can make anything in my collection look great with a great pose and futzing. I invested in this figure and I go into it with positivity that it will turn out well in my own hands.
