Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

Seeing a Jai Courtney version of Reese would really worry me about the prospects of a Biehn Reese. No one buys Jai Reese and Hot Toys takes from that that no one would want Biehn Reese either :gah: :banghead

You guys actually think this will ever be released...

Terminator: Genisys (2015) - Box Office Mojo
Box Office: 6 Reasons 'Terminator Genisys' Bombed (In America)

This movie's going to be lucky to finish at anything past $150 million worldwide vs a $155 million production budget, not including marketing costs. Keep in mind that figure will get cut down domestically by theatres taking their share of the cut, and even more substantially abroad where studios typically see a much smaller percentage of the profits handed back to them - as low as 15% in some cases. It's not getting a mainland China release to save it either, as far as I'm aware, probably due to their laws against depictions of time travel in movies and television shows - certainly I don't see China anywhere on this list, although it was released in Hong Kong - Terminator Genisys :: Global Sites & Release Dates

In short this film is a flop of John Carter/47 Ronin proportions. A spectacular, disastrous failure that Hollywood's desperately trying not to acknowledge as such.

I honestly don't see there being a demand for merchandise from this movie, at all. I imagine the Guardian T-800 is going to be a shelfwarmer that eventually hits bargain basement prices, especially with its laughably small accessory count in relation to its price. If that is indeed the case, once Hot Toys see how lacklustre the preorder sales are, any further plans will be shelved faster than you can say 'Prometheus'.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

Hot Toy must be concerned with how well a Michael Biehn figure would sell. Presumably not well in China but the same can be said for anything not Iron Man.

And yet they do a redundant Adam West Batman variant that is identical to the first version that seemingly sold like crap? Hell, I doubt Marty McFly is a "success" really. If some places in Asia are seeing Star Wars for the first time in 38 years and hating it, then what the hell would they see in Back to the Future?

****, Kyle Reese was their first MMS figure. If that factor and Genisys making Reese relevant to audiences isn't doing it then nothing will.

Then again, Hot Toys took a long time to finally make a T2 battle damaged so who the **** knows. There is certainly no sense of priority or urgency with their Terminator lines.

Wait did I just read that it's against the law in China to depict time travel in movies? Uh, what? :lol

Yeah, the Chinese censors got fed up of a growing fad in local films and TV series to do cookie cutter stories where someone from modern China would get thrown back the feudal period, undergo the expected culture shock, adapt and start a romance with one of the locals - also often meddling in or poking fun at historical events along the way.

Their solution was to outlaw the depiction of time travel on the basis it devalued culture and history. That was back in 2011, I presume it still stands.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

all right, nice, but not the one we all want!!!!

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

Can see all the super glue they used on the prototype. It's all over the teeth and fingers on the left hand.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

Looks good except maybe the teeth. I know it's not the version we wanted but it may be are only chance at getting one sadly.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

What are the differences between this one ad T1 endoskeleton? Does anybody have some comparation pictures?

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

Looks okay, not great. I really want an Endo, but not this one. I will pass and keep my fingers crossed for a T1.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Terminator Genisys: Endoskeleton Collectible Figure

Looks great apart from the teeth, but again, not the endo I want.
