Another good company making new figures from those franchises would give the hobby a real shot in the arm.

The sixth scale game is very predictable, not a lot of risks being taken aside from the odd release like Godfather from Damtoys or the upcoming Kurt Cobain from Blitzway that I can't wait for.
The worst part about this is that Hot Toys has worldwide exclusivity on a lot of these popular IPs, which means that no other company can produce these licensed figures. I wish it were more like the licenses for statue companies where it may be regional exclusivity or no exclusivity at all. Hot Toys is paying extra for the worldwide exclusivity with the extra costs (including costs for licenses they aren't really using) for that being passed onto the consumer, with no real additional benefits to the consumer.

Yeah, the original Electro sold so poorly that there are still places with the figure in stock for original MSRP some seven years later. That's bad.

Now to be fair that's most certainly due to the dumb character design and poor reception of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but it'll still most certainly weigh on Hot Toys decision on who makes the cut.

No I'm with you, my interest in this particular figure only goes so far as informing what to expect from the final battle version, which like you I also expect to be the much more interesting figure.

The glider is super cool, and the goblin mask is cool, but this particular suit itself has always been really goofy for all of the reasons already mentioned. No different than what Mysterio looks like when you strip him down to just the green undersuit, it all just feels like the base layer to apply some more visual interest over top. Which, is exactly what they did with the final battle suit.

This particular Goblin has always looked best in angles and poses that minimize his body and let the mask and glider be the focus. Because when he's standing straight up and down it's just so. much. green.

You're right. I suppose it just doesn't mesh well with my aesthetic preferences. I'm drawn towards to it due to factors such as nostalgia, but the piece itself, while accurate in its execution, is divorced from my tastes. It's a bit of a shame, but I figure it's better to admit and move on rather than drop half a grand and regret it later. I'm afraid of the creases and cracks too, I'm not going to lie. This isn't a figure I can put in a museum pose either, so such problems will be unavoidable.

I guess it's just a relic of its time. As it's been already mentioned, the Nolan Batsuits followed the same model of a pleather of sorts outfit, but IMHO those came out much better. In fact, that was my first instict, to go and compare the two to see if I was merely trying to nitpick the new Goblin, or there was a genuine difference between the two.

There's cloth underneath, there's armour plating, padding, bits and pieces all over and the "breaks" in the gauntlets work with the flow of the suit. It looks like a scaled down replica of the real thing, that being a real man in tacticool armour. Goblin genuinely comes off as he's wearing a literal onesie. Which, again, is accurate, but it doesn't make for a good half-grand collectible. At least IMHO. I can't get over it.

This is a figure I feel someone can literally pick up and play with. But I don't know if it'd stand proper next to a Thanos or any other of the really realistic figures. I'm glad it's being made and it's as accurate as it gets, and hope those who get it enjoy it. But ultimately I don't think that it's for me. I'll wait and see. Maybe they'll throw a mask with the FB version. But who knows, maybe the FB will suffer from the same problems. It's a shame we'll never get anything like this though.

Buffinator: “Well, to each his own. I chose my path, you chose the way of the HT wait game and they found you amusing for a while, the people of this forum. But the one thing they love more than a license is to see Sideshow fail, fall, die trying….

“This is why only fools are HT diehards - because you never know when some lunatic 3rd party supporter will come along with a sadistic choice. Let die the figure you love... or suffer the little collectors? Make your choice, darthkostis and see how a HT collector is rewarded!

darthkostis: “Don't do it Buffinator”

Buffinator: We are who we choose to buy... now, *choose*!

I'll wait and PO Moon Knight & Battinson. If anything to complete the Dark-Haired White SadBoy Triad.

PS: ATM I've actually got more Non-HT POs than HT ones. BCS Tommeh Shelby & 12th Doc, Iconiq Bateman, Dam Vito & AugToys Paul, Vs. HT Mando Luke & TDKR Bale.

I saw this Goblin design from the Future Revolution game. The more they go towards this armored look the less I like it. It's an okay redesign that reconciles his tech with his costume design, but I like my gobby more in the Halloween costume direction than advanced battle suit.

It's a little too generic iron man armored looking dude but not bad compared to other modern designs I've seen for him.

That's why I love that SooSoo did a classic Green Goblin. I hope they do more classic characters.

To the people saying this should have come out two years ago. That’s so true. Reason why I don’t put stake in this company . I feel like this the only company that can get away with teasing a figure and never show it. Why even make it? Waste of resources.

I don't think Hot Toys has every done a great job with really expressive sculpts so yeah I don't think this will be any different. I liked their recent Loki one but they can't quite seem to do it right with the eyes.

Not displaying this figure with the sculpt regardless. Not expecting anything crazy from them.

HT are more hit than miss when it comes to expressive.

...I like it. It's a good mix of flamboyant and tacticool. It irks me that HT has the Future Fight license and all they did with it was give us Iron Punisher. Yeah, it's a cool figure, but we could technically have comic accurate figures from them.

Looks familiar. I did a similar pose earlier in the year.

Green Goblin and Doc Ock are the only 2 villains HT will make. I'm kinda surprised to see some people are so confident Electro 2.0 will be made...not a chance!

That HT dread creeps in.

You know that feeling when immediately after you see the film you're positive they will make everything!

But time passes with not a lot of news and you start doubting everything because they are already teasing films coming out over the next few months.

We then feel lucky when we get figures of characters that were always going to happen. And spend years complaining about the ones that don't get made.
