1/6 Hot Toys MMS793 Alien: Romulus Rain Carradine

I’ll echo what others are saying, but they gave her baby fat. Likeness isn't really there. Her eyes are blue, not straight up brown lol…

She also looks too “muscly”. Spaeny hit the gym for the role but they went a bit overboard with the figure’s physique, mainly the arms. Her waist and legs imo, should be smaller.

The tailoring isn’t that good and I’d imagine that if you were to pull down on the shirt you’d see more of her neck which would help with proportions. I wish the elastic ankle cuffs were smaller and the pants had more of a natural and loose drape with some weight. I’m just nitpicking at this point lol.

Idk, I’m a little underwhelmed. But to me it’s just another standard HT figure, maybe slightly below par. Hoping they improve upon it but won’t count on that. Hopefully futzing can sort things out.

Still, I’m excited this actually got made. It’s a cool release and I’m for sure copping. It’s also nice to see the Alien IP get some love.

whats new with hot toys and tailoring. they did the same **** with the bale statue they released. the v neck he has makes him swim In it. this figure has a very blocky body as per usual with hot toys fashion and the shirt feeling 2 sizes bigger for her. why cant hot toys tailor clothes to fit nicely and somewhat snug to their figures for better presentation..

I'm having a hard time trying to stomach this release even though I liked the movie enough for me to consider rain... in theory the eyes are a simple fix to do, same goes for the shirt but that just means I'm gonna need to spend an additional 300 for the figure to fix its wrongs...

idk whether its cope with me saying I'm gonna wait for kawu pics or secret base, whichever comes first. this might be the case promo pics are absolutely garbage from them

Might be the only figure that I will get for this year if things go accordingly with my budget and space and it looks like that Rain is using a seamless body sculpt?

I think that tail is only movable so far @Wor-Gar, but my initial thoughts can be wrong. Someone pester HT staff to change the eyes to Blue not Hazel as it shows in the teaser snaps.

You’d think they’d nail such a simple costume design but nope lol. The A team was definitely not on this one..

okay maybe i take back what i said about her body being built like a kid, she is kinda pudgy. its more or less the tailoring ruining the entire fit. instead of having baggy pants, they just gave her 2xl pants, same goes for the shirt. thats whats mainly ******* up the entire look, minus the sculpt and eye color

26 cm is 10 1/4 inches and someone whined about about Callie being "smol" on Reddit. Callie is a petite person than compared to Sigourney Weaver.

Wish there was an option for both jointed and seamless arms.

I like the seamless look but will be afraid to pose this figure in anything other than a museum pose (long-term).

Hypothetically, Rain’s right below pad would conceal the elbow joint and the shirt hides shoulder joints, leaving just the left elbow joint exposed.

The headsculpt looks okay to me, other than the eye color thing. Eyebrows could be a little thicker?
But the clothes, what happened there? I mean I know she's basically wearing rags in the movie, but I've seen better tailoring on an SWToys figure.

I think it's just the lighting on certain scenes. They're blue in the movie as well.

Just read the features list you posted. They couldn't even be bothered to add the jacket? Why, Hot Toys?

I've been getting downvoted for pointing out the inaccurate brown eyes. I don't get how you can look at Cailee Spaeny and not land on blue eyes.

Would the Present Toys Ripley (Flight Officer) work with Rain?

It’s seamless but I was planning to replace that body anyway so don’t care as much if it rips.

That Ripley body is way underscaled for Sigourney but I think Cailee is nearly a foot shorter.
