1/6 Hot Toys MMS793 Alien: Romulus Rain Carradine

I ordered two. Future mes problem when it comes to paying for them.

I know what you mean. Those reward points are going to create even more problems for future me.

I know these aren’t ideal angles, but it’s the best I can do given the limited amount of higher resolution pics out there of Rain.

First picture hopefully captures what I’m talking about. Only picture I can find where she has a scowl and yet, the proto eyebrows leave something to be desired. They’re way too fine and not accurate shape. Correct eye color would help a lot though, I agree. Idk, I think this is yet another HT sculpt where they make the portraits too perfect, idealized and even more beautiful than what it’s supposed to be. If that makes sense. The hair sculpting looks great though.

Hmm… I wonder if Man of Hot Air or if Mr. Mom will get Rain.

Don’t get me started on Justin with his usual routine and monotone voice when he gets to review it for his channel.

The sculptor captured her nose pretty well.

I like how it’s a little unconventional, at least by Hollywood standards where starlet noses tend to be narrower or less bulbous.

Don’t get me wrong, the sculpt is close. And while the eye color helps greatly, the eyebrows are still off IMO. The eye shape is good enough. Subtle changes would make it. As is, as long as they can change the eye color, I’ll be content, but I’m not blown away by this sculpt (and I think it’s cause it’s how HT does portraits and paint apps and make all their sculpts too idealized, just my opinion)

Since the outcry isn't anywhere as severe as Supergirl (IGN even made a post about her) I think we'll be lucky to have the eyes changed, let alone much else.

Speaking of must haves, now that we have Rain and the Scorched alien, how many others are interested in Andy? I think he would round out the Romulus shelf pretty nicely.

If they make The Offspring, I’d hope they make either PJs or space suit Rain lol

I feel that this is the kind of headsculpt that looks amazing and accurate until you look at a photo of the actress again. It's like it's matching your memory of her face.

I think it's a great sculpt and great figure, expensive for what you get, though I have pre-ordered. I do agree on the eyes, though.

I just don’t know what Andy could come with. Be very slim pickings (I’d order him regardless). Maybe he comes with Rook? Or add in Rains jacket and pack from the start as a incentive

I’d break bank for a space suit Rain, would look sick, especially with the behind the scenes photos of Cailee in it, bad ass

As it stands now I don’t think I need Andy. Don’t want the human characters outnumbering the creatures.

However the Offspring is a game changer, if that happens I’d want Andy to go with Scorch and to pair Rain (preferably final battle version) with the Offspring.

If Andy happens I think he definitely needs two sculpts to represent the different personalities.

If hot toys wants to go all in on this line, I’d Also get Kay…. For personal reasons

The Offspring was the first time since Bone Tomahawk I felt queasy watching something. It's repulsive to watch.

I don't know if Hot Toys have ever included accessories for a completely different character like that before, but yes; they'd have to include the Rain jacket and backpack (and definitely that green little pin she wears) with him for me to consider it. When I pay this much I at least expect a cute girl or a nasty creature to look at, but that's just me.

If they were to go that route, they could have her cryo gun + accessories come with the Offspring.

Their Carnage figure came with a head sculpt for their Venom figure plus a bust to display it on.

I think I’m content with the current selections now that I got what I really personally wanted lol. I think Rain vs Scorched encapsulates the film pretty well, but I would consider more if they were to go deeper.

Honestly, I’d prefer if they move on from Romulus and revisit Alien/Aliens and tackle Prometheus. How about that?
