Canada's crazy ass conversion rates are slowly killing this hobby for me. I love Alien as much as the next fan, but I'm not sure I see $400 worth in this figure.
Maybe if they would have included her jacket and an extra, more expressive sculpt. But as it is now...

Your not the only one that has mentioned the Rain is over $400 Beaver Dollars honestly. I messaged another HT collector that has a similar interest as myself and she also told me that Rain is pricy at given what the accessories are there for her now. Seems like X-23 (Laura) is the better deal at this point in time.

When I do pre-order Rain (mostly likely), I'm going to try to find a coat for her (or steal one from my youngest niece that has a Barbie collection. Maybe she won't notice that is gone as she has a fairly large collection. )

I shared my complaints about the figure earlier but there’s some stuff that impresses me here, too.

The diorama base is pretty cool and the pants seem improved, although I would hope they can be flattened down toward the legs so as to not look so much like Jnco jeans (unless that’s what they’re supposed to be? Didn’t read that way in the film). I wonder if that little black wire holding up the facehugger is included or if they forgot to Photoshop it out!

I think they deserve credit for including the Pulse Rifle targeting assist feature since there was a whole scene about it. Definitely a nice little extra bit of play value.

Also, the seamless arms look very good and realistic. For far too long Hot Toys has commonly given female figures just whatever doll-like, unrealistically slender and toylike arms that come standard on the bodies they use. Look how vastly superior these look to the bendy-straws-for-arms they were using on their mothballed Ripley with Power Loader prototype (that they absolutely need to resurrect):

This is just a really nice photo and probably where the likeness is the strongest. The sculpted hair on this figure is also really excellent, mistakable for rooted at first glance.

Don’t fall for this. MrConor212 (who’s here as well) is just relaying what the Man of Hot Collectibles YouTube channel has been spreading around despite not knowing jack. His predictions are nothing but air hence people in here are now referring to him as the “Man of Hot Air”.

I wouldn’t put too much stock into this exchange on Reddit if I were you..

I know these aren’t ideal angles, but it’s the best I can do given the limited amount of higher resolution pics out there of Rain.

First picture hopefully captures what I’m talking about. Only picture I can find where she has a scowl and yet, the proto eyebrows leave something to be desired. They’re way too fine and not accurate shape. Correct eye color would help a lot though, I agree. Idk, I think this is yet another HT sculpt where they make the portraits too perfect, idealized and even more beautiful than what it’s supposed to be. If that makes sense. The hair sculpting looks great though.

Their Carnage figure came with a head sculpt for their Venom figure plus a bust to display it on.

You know what, Carnage is about as tall as the Offspring creature from Romulus.

I doubt they'd ever make it though. I don't think the interest would be there compared to a Xeno.

I've had this issue with a lot of figures when it comes to shirts and coats. A lot of the time it looks like a kid wearing their dad's giant clothes.

Rain's jacket has a pretty puffy look in the film so I wouldn't have the same issue with it - it can look a little oversized and still look good. Getting it for this figure would mostly fix the shirt issue. Plus, it would cover up that wrist seam. I like seeing the WY logo and that's all I need.
