I keep reading all the critics saying the clothing is turning them off…. I get the t-shirt material is too thick, I can see that. So it looks stiff and over sized because it doesn’t hang.

Ideally more neck needs to show and quite a lot of the time in the film the neck is pulled to one side with a bra/under layer shoulder strap showing.

But I think one of the issues for some vocal people is the original outfit is pretty unflattering. It’s all baggy and over sized, added to the fact she is 5’1” and she does look quite…. Stumpy…. Don’t get me wrong I think she looks great in the film but people are used to tall, leggy female figures with tight figure hugging clothing and big busts. I just think people are hung up on that because this figure doesn’t look “feminine” enough to their limited tastes. The same people who unzip black widow costumes to show cleavage .

Like @1sixthcollector mentioned, the neck opening and the way the shirt hangs leaves a lot to be desired. I also don’t understand why they did the sleeves like that. really cheap

I saw the MRC Instagram post but that was more like a short. Justin usually has someone get footage for him but I don’t think there’s been a video yet.

Waiting for Kit to put this up for order. I don’t know if this will stay as Rain, get turned into Ellie, or hell Jessie from Civil War, but this is a release I definitely want to support.

Yeah, I don't deny the existence of... that segment of the community, much as I try to ignore them. For me, I just want the clothes to look like clothes. The current top doesn't look like a real, cloth shirt... It looks like they cut a head and arm holes in a burlap sack. Idaho potatoes, brought to you by Weyland-Yutani!

ScoutingForToys put it best; you gotta have that goofy smile in there, and you gotta have some alternate expressions for the other figures in this line. After all, a common critique of the Rain figure is how indifferent she looks in the promo pictures - only mildly bothered to find herself cornered by a Xenomorph: (1), (2), (3), (4), (5)

ScoutingForToys put it best; you gotta have that goofy smile in there, and you gotta have some alternate expressions for the other figures in this line. After all, a common critique of the Rain figure is how indifferent she looks in the promo pictures - only mildly bothered to find herself cornered by a Xenomorph: (1), (2), (3), (4), (5)

Actually I’d love a space suit done like the dark knight rises armoury. A sculpted Rain posed holding the cryogun and a pose able space suit that can be displayed with a rain sculpt or empty.

Good point. I'm glad you found it fun This is all based on an idea I talked about on page 17 in this thread. Since Rain comes with Andy's chip and reset device, then Andy could come with Rain's jacket and backpack - adding to the Rain piece through future releases in the Romulus line rather than doing a separate Rain 2.0 release. Question is, what would be included with the Offspring release?

You definitely can't skip that beautiful space suit. There are some excellent pictures out there, but I sadly haven't been able to find any good shots of just the suit she wears underneath the helmet/chest piece.

I would happily do a mock-up of the space suit pack with the separate body, cryo gun and final girl outfit there instead, but then I suppose the Offspring would only come with the alternate head sculpts plus this black goo vial container.

These type of figures really should always come with two head sculpts…. People don’t like museum poses but the neutral expressions on most figures don’t lend themselves to any dramatic poses. Which is a huge shame when the whole point of going figure over statue is to allow for posing. At least we now get moving eyes I guess…. Helps a bit.

The benefit of figures for me is they aren’t as much of a cost and space commitment.

I would sacrifice pose ability for a cleaner looking aesthetic and less seams. However I do agree we need more expressive sculpts for more dynamic poses.

The pose is different as the facehugger has changed position, so it suggests that the eyes really were changed soon afterwards, and Ngai Hang Tse wasn't trolling with edited photos!

When I picked out that expression from the film, I had an abundance of frightened expressions to choose from. I'm over the moon with this piece being made, but I would've happily paid more and had a frightened sculpt to match the intensity of a Xeno-encounter, which is the type of scene I've always wanted to display, and it sounds like a lot of collectors are getting Rain mainly to go with the Scorched Xeno.

I can still work with what we're getting, and I'm looking forward to seeing the different ways people display, light and photograph this piece in particular.

I like this expression, which is what the figure seems to be based on, but has missed the mark.

I guess I prefer more determined expressions for my figures. I myself like “neutral” expressions too, but they have to have some edge to them.

I think the issue is a lot of people like a neutral face for the best likeness to compare to the actor or actress in general and also allows neutral poses/museum posing. If they only went with one extreme expression a lot of people would object… I just want both…

Might commission a custom head now having looked at those screen grabs….
