this is so, so frustrating. been waiting / hoping for this figure since the post credit scene in 2018. 2099 is my favorite alternate spidey, but passed on ps4 version saying “hopefully theyll do the spider-verse one someday”… and this is what we get?

literally just adding the fabric oversuit wouldve made this an instant preorder. the proportions, headsculpt, everything else looks so awesome. why HT why…

I win if it's a suit, I buy Hot Toys for the realism/accuracy and the articulation is a bonus.

Anybody that has been buying a HT Spiderman (or 1/6 figures with soft goods costume) already has accepted the limitations of articulation that comes with it. It won't be Iron Man level but definitely not Captain America EG levels of bad.

Part of me gets why this is the way it is. The proportions are so awkward and large that a suit probably would be hard to make.

Still doesn’t help the fact that it doesn’t look very good or like something we’d normally get from Hot Toys.

Such a damn shame they did the figure this way. Covering that body with a suit would made this perfect.

No-one should buy this thing. That's the only way they (may) learn... though probably not, lol.

33.5cm? I’m sure that’s scale-accurate to the movie, but it’s weird to think of Miguel as 6’6”.

this keeps pissing me off every time i think of it, which includes every time i look at my spider-verse 2099 phone wallpaper. this was one of my most wanted figs - gah. why.

Yeah, if this were Mondo or Hasbro or SHF or a bunch of things, it would be fine. For a stylized action figure, it looks fine. But... HT has for decades been bringing a lot more to the table. This is a bizarre slide away from the normal cloth goods/mixed media we see with 1/6th scale figures. Plus it thematically does not match the previous releases or the companion releases. On its own and with no context, it's fine, but it is not what anyone expected from HT. It's like if Bob Dylan suddenly started playing electric guitar.
