The double edge sword.Collectors: It'd be nice if the suit didn't crease or restrict movement.
Hot Toys: No suit for you!
I win if it's a suit, I buy Hot Toys for the realism/accuracy and the articulation is a bonus. The double edge sword.
Suit: Restricted movement (ex. the PS4 2099)
No suit: Joints.
No one wins.
33.5cm? I’m sure that’s scale-accurate to the movie, but it’s weird to think of Miguel as 6’6”.This photo is the cherry on top. Just look at how completely out of place the $20.99 figure is with the other two.
Such a damn shame they did the figure this way. Covering that body with a suit would made this perfect.
It's just not what we buy Hot Toys for.I don't think it looks bad, just not worth what they're going to charge for it.
Yeah, if this were Mondo or Hasbro or SHF or a bunch of things, it would be fine. For a stylized action figure, it looks fine. But... HT has for decades been bringing a lot more to the table. This is a bizarre slide away from the normal cloth goods/mixed media we see with 1/6th scale figures. Plus it thematically does not match the previous releases or the companion releases. On its own and with no context, it's fine, but it is not what anyone expected from HT. It's like if Bob Dylan suddenly started playing electric guitar.I don't think it looks bad, just not worth what they're going to charge for it.
