Well I've collected hot toys for many years. And in the rare instance of changes made from a first to a second run or what not, the change is usually extremely minor. Example being the issue with the wrists on Deadpool. Sometimes as a quality control issue like the rubber on the old DX Batman. I don't ever remember seeing an example where a body was changed because of some initial complaint regarding it. I suppose there's a first time for everything, but the odds are lower than low. My opinion is not based on idle speculation but experience observing hot toys behavior.

Didnt they change Wonder Woman's body from the first batch to second?

Also, it could be "minor" padding that can be added...

I doubt they're changing anything. As previously stated, it takes about six weeks to get from Hong Kong to California. Daredevil was released by Hot Toys on August 25th. Six weeks later is October 6th, a Friday. Odds are it'll be a few days before or after that date, so regardless of anything, the figure isn't shipping from Sideshow until October.

If HT was changing something on the figure, anything at all, this would not be getting to us in October. Maybe not even this year.

I don't know. The body really doesn't bother me. He's not supposed to be jacked like Cap or Thor. He's smaller with a really athletic build.

Maybe I'm just not seeing what everyone else is seeing.

His body is how it looks in the show, hes not meant to look like a meathead, the costume isnt super tight bcz of giant pecs, it sits slightly loose in places. Hes not a not a big guy.

We will see. At this point, its an underwhelming release. The body leaves a lot of be desired.

I am okay with the body and glad I have this on pre-order, but I do see what others are talking about. I don't think anyone wants him to be "jacked like Cap or Thor" or to look like a "meathead", but his smaller athletic body doesn't come through on the figure either. As it has been mentioned before, this is mostly do to the lack in significance difference in the shoulder to waist ratio. His shoulders should be a tad broader or waist a tad smaller, making him actually look "athletic" as he does in the show. So I get it. I also think though that at 1/6 scale this was tricky to do without a Hot Toys making a body exclusively for this figure, which can't be done all the time because it's not cost effective. Wider shoulders but still on a smaller body would have helped. Or, find a way to make the clothing tighter around the waist, but this would have limited articulation even more than what they already have. It's always a bit of a trade off with all these kinds of things and some characters create more challenges to make a this scale than others. In the end I think they got an over all good result, but it's just not a home run this time (they all can't be). But it's certainly not garbage or a failure either. I am encouraged by the head sculpt and the accessories and think he is possible just enough to be able to come up with poses which make him a bit more athletic looking than what you would see if you had him just in a museum pose. Sometimes I have held out for a more perfect version of a figure. I am doing that with Wonder Woman right now, but I think the odds are this MCU DD will be the only one we get. I am looking forward to having him.

blue tack ,,,,,,again no not really ,but i do live in a cold house ,built on running sand :thud:

Blue tack is a life saver when it comes to adjusting/fixing head sculpts!

managed to slip a little padding down the sides to smooth out the big hollows in his hip joints that mine had , not sure its worth the effort :lol

He doesn't look as short there as he did in an earlier review. And by rolling the shoulders back you've also increased their width, which should help with the points Jaymas makes.

:lecture

It's not an ideal figure or ideal design, and part of that is the fault of the Netflix costume and the problems it presents when scaled down to an action figure.

As you say, he doesn't look like a write-off, but more of a challenge instead. Finding the ideal pose makes him tend towards a statue than an action figure, but still more fun to own than a static piece.

Found these while searching the web and I'm saving for some possible posing ideas when DD finally ships in the US...

You would need a Dynamic Figure Stand, but these poses might work too...

I will say that in those Suiping photos the neck looks very different than it does in person. It looks very pushed down there compared to mine, which looking at him atm he actually has a neck :lol

Anyway....

I decided to cancel this. Just not in love enough with how it turned out. How long does SS usually take to refund flex payments.

First it was the slim body now the neck....what's next? Keep this up I'll might just cancel as well. Lol. Just kidding. Love DD too much to cancel even with the issue.

messing around with a season 1 masked head sculpt i found in my boneyard :)

Nice, season 1 custom sculpt/mask LIBBY1957DOG! I think I like the second season version best over all, the first one with the black on the front reminds me of Adam West Batman with the literal interpretation of the black shading they sometimes do on the front of the mask in the comics. But I do like the ears better on the first mask. Looks cool. Nice job.

But I do like the ears better on the first mask.

"...they're horns."

At the end of Season 1 when the three are talking around the newspaper with the artist rendering of this new Devil of Hell's Kitchen, and Foggy says "the horns are a bit much", I wish Matt had said
" well, Captain America has wings, right?"
Foggy : "they're painted on, not actual wings sticking out"
Matt : " ... oh"

It would've been a nice link and contrast between Cap and DD as angel and devil, plus an opportunity for Marvel TV to scorn costumes as they love to do.

But no, it's the "flag waiver" and "the incident" and #it'sNotReallyAllConnected
