Looking good so far. My Indy repaint is at the same stage as yours, just done the base flesh and the eye whites. I repainted the hat when I first got him. The facial detail will be the fun part. I have a technique I'm working on which I've only tested on one other head so far, I aim to refine it and test it on Indy.

I'm still debating whether or not to get one of SteveO's sets for the holster etc. One thing I did do for the web belt was to replace the buckle assembly with the Relic Hunter one and it looks really good. I unpicked the stitching and glued the belt back into place.

I just love working on Indy, he's always my favourite custom project

I have a quick question about the scale of sideshow Indy KOTCS and Indy KOTCS from medicom. I know the sideshow head is too big for its body and everything about the medicom figure is small (when compared to other figures). But, If I was to replace the head of a sideshow Indy KOTCS with that of a medicom KOTCS indy head, would the head look too small? I really like what the medicom head looks like when repainted. I didn’t want a bobble head standing next to my figures and I don’t want to stretch out the body because then hell look like a giant next to my figures.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
My custom has the Medi head on an Sideshow Indy body. The neck I used is a BBi 3.5...it's a shorter neck and looks better scale-wise. Medi feet and boots with extenders.
Here's what was used so far. I'm still not done changing things out and upgrading...but it's basically there:
It's on the Sideshow Prometheus (version 1).
BBI 305 Neck
Medi Shirt, buttons removed.
Medi gunbelt, painted.
Medi Shoes, repainted, extenders added.
Medi ROTLA Hat, paint wash added and rim shaved down.
Sideshow KOTCS pants, recolored.
Sideshow Holster, scuffed up.
Sideshow jacket.
Sideshow ROTLA Hands
Sideshow ROTLA Pistol (KOTCS gun on the way).
DID Charles Winstone Belt Buckle.
DID John Colemen Bag, modified with custom strap, buckle.

Well slowly gettin there with my first Indiana... Paul really kindly gave me some bits to get me moving, and J2 has sorted me with some heads to work with and some other bits and I know Rons stuff is intransit!!.. I dont want to paint up the PF head till I know I have got it right so I am gonna do some SS ones first. I have still got to remake the holster and stuff. But it the head painting I am looking forward to most.....

Wow, that looks great !

I got myself a John Colman bag earlier. I have some rings on the Relic Hunter bag I can use and will put the SSC strap on it. The Colman bag is actually a MkVI whereas Indy's is a MkVII, still, that shouldn't matter when it comes to accuracy anyway as the MkVII's weren't made till 1941 and Raiders is set in 1936!

Plus that Coleman bag just looks sooooooo much better... those are what I use for my bag upgrades... Rogerbee, instead of using the relic hunter rings I suggest just making your own jump rings with thin gauge wire.. that way you can adjust the size to exactly what you want.. once you do that, throw on a real leather strap and metal buckle you have a damned near perfect Indy bag for 1/6...

True enough, but, I'm not quite as adept as you are and want to save a bit of money. I spent just under £5 on the bag so far and if I use what I already have then I won't need to spend any more. I still don't think I've spent in total anywhere near what I would have if I'd just bought the DX. In a way, I've only ever had one custom Indy and have evolved him over the years as better parts have become available.

I changed the Medi shirt out with a Sideshow KOTCS shirt and pistol I picked up from Shortround. I like the stitching and material better on the Medi shirt, but the collar is more characteristic of Indy on the Sideshow shirt. I also tried out a Soldier Story body with a molded neck. The neck and forearms had to be shaved down a bit. There are pros and cons of both, but I'm liking the overall look with the Soldier Story body...especially with the jacket on.

On the left is the Prometheus with BBi3.5 Neck Plug.
On the right is the Soldier Story Body.

Looking good! The head size looks just right on the S2. SSC Indy's with this body make the neck look skinny. The Ezio style TT with the moulded neck is just right.

Here's my new gun that I got for Indy:

It's a DML S&W Victory model which came with Josh Mason and Mike Walker. In terms of overall silhouette it's much closer than the SSC gun to the original, the barrel appears shorter too, which also helps. The butt may be different, but, paint it black and put it in his hand and I doubt you'd notice.

I got mine from here:

As far as I know it's still in stock. The shipping was really fast, even to the UK. They pack things really well too, the box it came in was nearly big enough for a 1/1 one!

Here are some updates to my Indy. The main difference I have done since the last time I posted is that I sculpted the neck and did a light repaint.

Very nice!

One thing I discovered about the SSC jacket was that the ends of the collar were sewn down. I unpicked the stitches and the collar looks a lot better.

I like your bash of the guy Indy fights with on the truck. DML's Jurgen was this guy as far as I can remember. I always meant to get him and am kicking myself that I never did.
