looks good, i love the work in progress pics as much, if not more than the pics of the finished product, so keep us updated!

Ive been working on a pedestal for my indy. This is very much a work in progress but as i missed out on the ss version and im still not sold on the hot toys indy i figured why not!

heres a quick mock up pic so i can see how it will turn out

theres still alot of work to do, and a couple of things im not too happy with yet, but i have all the pieces i need now, i just need to paint, and age everything adding vines and dirt etc.(and find a good way to create the markings.

the floor can also be used as a base on its own without the pedestal. i do have a few of these so if im happy with the final results i may sell a couple to finance the tod indy pf

the base is mdf, the pedestal is frm foamex,- its quite dense & tough, not squishy foam stuff.
i work at a sign company so have access to a router so i can out various designs.
i think if i paint it with sand so it has a bit of texture it should look ok. ill post better pics when ive finished

ok, apart from adding the aztec markings to the pedestal im pretty much done on my first base. I may leave off these markings as i havent found a good way to do this yet, I havent made this so it is 100% screen accurate, but more of an impression of a scene

Im very happy with the results so far. I have 2 versions.
V1 is base only, (ignore the fact that tod indy is on it)

V2 is base and pedestal.

Tbh i thought it was a bit small too, but making it taller looked silly, im looking a making it wider and taller for any future pieces

Hi All

clparker04 - Indy looks amazing buddy well done.

Ron

cheers for the comments guys, if anyone is interested i have done a few of these and they are on ebay (the pedestal is only available in the uk for now while i look up international shipping charges).
now i know that i can do it, im starting work on a pedestal that will be more accurate in scale for myself, its very addictive this customising lark!

Here is a WIP picture of my second head painting attempt. My first one was the SS GI Joe Dusty and it turned out pretty well. I had fun doing it so I decided Indy would be my next project. I still have to finish the lips, eyes, stubble and touch up work but can I get some opinions on the skin tone? Should I add a little color to the forehead, cheeks, etc? I don't know if I should just add a little red to the base skin tone I have mixed up and drybrush it or if I should try the pastel route. As far as the stubble, if I go the pastel route can someone walk me through it a little bit. I have some dark grey pastel that I ground down. Do I just lightly drybrush it on to blend it in or do I have to use a damp brush to blend it into the paint on the sculpt?

As a complete paining newb, any and all advice is helpful! Thanks!
