Ok, this one is not for the faint hearted. I decided that I had to try and do something about the jaw, mouth head sculpt. I'm gonna start painting this soon. Make it into a dusty dirty Raiders version. So here is what I did. I cut out the PERS block, then I completely shaved out the enterior of the head. And sanded down the actual PERS block itself. I wanted to create more space in the head.. These are WIP pics.. After I had done all this I heated the head (no pictures of this yet). I discovered it becomes very pliable. Heating and then dipping into cold water, I even gave Indy a broken nose at one point. So I actually managed to make the mouth chin smaller, and push the eye balls closer to the face.. I will post some pics later, but here is the first stage (before heating)..

And here are a few after "melting" the face, I distorted it in a Ford way. I think it makes a big difference, maybe hard to show on pics like these. These have not been repainted or touched up..yet!

Pretty crafty. I want to do this too, so I'm waiting to see how you do it.

You mentioned getting the eyes closer too -- how did that happen?

Go Rory,

HT's answer to Dr Frankenstein! Hopefully our cry when you've finished will be:

Here's an easy little trick. I rolled up the jacket sleeves to the elbow and left them for a couple of hours. I'm pretty happy with the result. :)

Thanks so much for all the compliments and feedback! I'm really pleased with how they've all turned out so far.

WOW! That the SS Indy head, right? Beautiful paint job on those two! You even touched up Toht, didn't you?

Thanks Wor-Gar! High praise coming from you. :) Yep, they've all been completely repainted and yes, that's Trevor's Indy head. I've mulled over replacing it with various other sculpts as I think there are pros and cons to all - including HT's - but at the end of the day for me it comes down to Trevor's being the one I want in my collection. For me personally it's more about the silhouette and how the figures look from a distance than it is about every little detail being exact, and the SS Indy head gives me what I'm after on that score.

Next I'm going to tackle German Indy, which will be interesting as the head is out of scale with the other two (or at least seems that way to my eye).

Nice,

What if you modded the Blitzway Scarface suit!?

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll check it out.

Wow. Nicest line-up ever. :clap

More pics please!

Sure thing!

How well does it fit a TT? Perhaps that's what he's concerned about. That said, the SSC Indy gear fits a TT surprisingly well.

Yes, that could be the issue ... my problems with it are fit-related, it just seems to hang really badly on the Pro – thinking about it, the TT probably has longer arms which might sort out the sleeves bunching around the shoulders and at the wrist ...

I sanded down the pers box to get as close as possible and pushed it right in. Clamped it whilst glueing it. Looks better. The head looks very different, if your not afraid of cutting up your head I highly recommend this. Also I have been looking at bodies and clothing for my Raiders custom. Whilst the muscle body is perfect for TOD I really want that Ford shoulder slope for my Raiders version.

The Goemon body allows you to do this with the shoulders, they "pop" down. As much as I love the KATO jacket, the sovereign looks better for this. So I dyed my HT shirt grayish and modded it. All coming along nicely... :)

I think you can see the ford likeness coming out here, now for some paint..

Do you have a pic of Toht with no glasses? That looks GREAT.

Thanks! I don't but I can take one for you when I get home. In the meantime, here's another one if you'd like more detail. Getting this close starts to show up flaws in the paint texture that you can't see on the figure itself though! And seeing these really makes me want to knock back the shine on the glasses, so that might be a little project for this evening ... :)

I haven't attempted any of the seriously cool headsculpt alterations that I've seen posted on these boards yet, but have upgraded to Kato's jacket, shirt and pants. I was also able to add mfisher's belt, holster, whip and bag tweak to my Indy.

I have to say thanks to commtech & cavlcade for their insight!

Indy's definitely not finished, but it's great to have him finally on display!

Looking good there, congrats. Did you treat the jacket or did it arrive like that?

Looking great! What's the total cost so far?

I'm really curious to see him all put together. Did you finish the PERS shaving? Do you have a pic of the full figure with the PERS shaved?

So...Here's an update on my revisions, I can't believe the time I'm spending on this, but it's fun! I've stained the shirt added varnish to some spots, I',m still working on it :yess:
