So whats the best custom jacket for this guy and where can I find it?
Thanks:)

Well the main two options are Katos jacket, which is a work of art in itself, real leather, amazing, or the sovereign jacket which is more screen accurate and less bulky. I prefer the Sovereign at the moment. Both are quite difficult to get I'm afraid.

:(

YoNoSe,

I thought that I was looking at the Kato jacket. Wow, great tips!!!

The truth is that the Hot Toys jacket does have the accurate yoke in the back.

Have to try this.

Thanks for the tips!

Here's an easy little trick. I rolled up the jacket sleeves to the elbow and left them for a couple of hours. I'm pretty happy with the result. :)

Yes, that could be the issue ... my problems with it are fit-related, it just seems to hang really badly on the Pro – thinking about it, the TT probably has longer arms which might sort out the sleeves bunching around the shoulders and at the wrist ...

Using a TT would also give him a neck! I think that's the major issue.

I'm really curious to see him all put together. Did you finish the PERS shaving? Do you have a pic of the full figure with the PERS shaved?

Not yet mate, I just started painting him. Just to be clear I didn't remove any eyelid from behind the face, that would actually create more of a gap, because the eyeballs need a perfect socket to fin into. What I did do was completely carve out the inside of the head so that the PERS could be pushed forward to their maximum proximity to the face. It also allowed me to reshape the jaw. I actually went too far the first time and he looked ill and freaky! By heating then dipping into cold water this head is like play-dough.
:lol

Difficult to tell much under the massive hat. While nice, the size of the hat makes the head look even smaller.

The Assassin's Creed Ezio body I used for mine, I believe, has the same upper body tooling as the Goemon one and it does work really well for a Raiders look.

I not sure I'll continue on mine with the SSC sculpt now. WGP's may well be the way to go. I could test paint schemes out on the SSC one though.

..not so sure about WGP, I love their Batman Returns stuff, that's all make-up character faces. I think it will be difficult to get a sophisticated skin look on that sculpt, not so sure their Solo looks great either to be honest. I think the HT sculpt, whilst flawed is the best starting point yet. The Ezio body is roughly the same but has leg extensions which make him a little too tall, these are removable I believe, or so that what the Indy experts on here have told me! I'm sure Commtech or Shortround could enlighten you further..

WGP's Harrisons are very much rough WIP's right now, but, the likenesses are there already and that's what counts.

As regards the body you just pop the lower legs off at the knee. Mine has Gambit TT knees and lower legs. I knew from the get go what I'd need to do.

Well, I will keep an eye on WGP's head, I haven't seen any actual finished product from them yet, except for test pieces and a cat-woman head. Fingers crossed it will be top notch.

There's a lot that can be done with this though..some older WIP pics, new at the top, old at the bottom.. (waiting on MFisher stuff before I finish him off!)..

I've been following WGP's stuff too, in hopes of getting replacement heads for my Starbuck and Apollo. As far as their Han sculpt, I think that they have captured the essence of the character, but not sure I see 100% HF in there. Certainly interested in seeing the final product though and also seeing their Indy.

Although I hope it turns out well, they are a great and very talented bunch of guys.

Ok, now I'm gonna do what we call in the trade doing a "Guyver" on it.. Here are 12 new pictures of my WIP Indy TOD custom (I still have to fix the eyes and put his leather gear on... I apologize in advance to anyone with zero interest in seeing any more pictures of my TOD.. I haven't color corrected these so lighting is all over the place, but I wanted a bit of drama (top one is the latest)..

If you bring the main lip colour down to the bottom of his bottom lip, particularly in the middle, it will look better.

As a TOD Indy, I will have to admit that, from certain angles, it does work. The trick to a good likeness is that it has to look good from ALL angles, which Arnie's head doesn't.

The mindset to get into for repainting heads is something I took from Tom Savini and it's this:

"What would I need to see in order to convince me this is real!?"

Not just painted to look real in a certain light or in photos, but real! I've been trying as hard as I can to do this for years and years. It's tough to do and I still don't feel I'm quite there yet. The paint has to be right as do the pastels, but, more importantly than that, the head has to be right.

I'm aiming to do this with Indy and whether or not I do it with Trevor's head or WGP's remains to be seen. If WGP pull it off I can use Trevor's to practice on.

It takes time too, so don't expect much for a time to come

Rory, it looks great, I would STILL add more stubble to the mustache area to bring it out a bit more.

Very outstanding progress on ToD Indy! Especially love that first photo!

So what happened with the PERS shaving? Did you finish? Is this head the beneficiary of that work?

erm..thanks for that.:lol
Can't wait to see yours Rogerbee..:clap

Yes, well, like I said, it'll take time, so waiting is something y'all will have to get good at!

It depends on whether WGP meet my expectations or whether I decide to stick with Trevor's or go for an HT jacket and weather it up.

I'm not really looking to do anything much till after the New Year

Well you can't say the sovereign is more accurate then Katos as katos is based on the jacket from totcs, I hope Kato eventually finds the correct material to make a raiders jacket.
