Another pic of his repaint:

That's really, really ****ed up. A repaint?? He couldn't even do a repaint?? It's not like it was a big project, full custom figure. Not that it matters because it doesn't but come on man. A ****ing repaint. Scum bag\

Let me guess, at some point after a long disappearance and many commissions undone he came back apologizing saying that he had "life issues" and that he wanted to make good. Then disappeared again after maybe 2 weeks of leading people along again. Personally, I become deaf to customizers excuses. Don't care. Less talk more action.

Without getting into to much detail, that's basically it. Les was amazing and then went off the rails. Just another story of customizer gone rogue.

Sorry if I opened up old stuff, I wasn't aware of his history. I was combing the thread for inspiration for mine and that hit me.

What it illustrates is that the likeness is as much in the paintwork as it is in the sculpting. It isn't a 'one style fits all' thing, if someone has sculpted the actor, you won't truly bring that to life if you don't paint the actor.

Whats even more ****ty is that people even lost their sculpts. Bummer.

Are you painting this yourself Roger?

In a way it can be part and parcel of being talented. You're good, then people find out you're good. For a while, that's good, but, more and more people want you, more than just one person can handle and that's when it goes bad.

Yes, many,

Not brilliantly over the years I will admit. I'm no Les that's for sure but I will do the best I can on this sculpt. Don't go expecting brilliance, I just can appreciate how others can do it. I don't claim to be awesome, as, compared to others, I know I'm not.

In May it will be 5 years for me on a paintup from him. That's why I don't do customs anymore.

Ouch, I knew there were some guys waiting longer then me. I hear you, at this point I just want to replace the head on my figure and be done with it. Last I heard, he met a girl and found Jesus. Well I hope Jesus leads him back with the good book and word to finish what he started and be done with this. At the very least get us our sculpts back. I dunno, the guilt of taking something would force me to do something to make it right....

His page is still up, but he does not respond to emails, nor has he posted on this page in close to a year. I would like a thread to see who is owed stuff to put a value on it. Geez we could start some type of support group or twelve step program as well. Mods probably say no way ! Lol

I used to have a ton of respect for Les and tried to support him through all the drama that followed, but the fact that its years later and he is still holding onto property of other is pretty unforgivable. It's one thing to skip out on services owed, as bad as that already is, its even worse to still be holding onto peoples property.

The LEAST he could do it get people their sculpts back.

These are very old wounds on the board and really don't need to be brought back up though. Nothing good will ever come of it, if Les cared enough to right his wrongs he would have done it by now. *sigh*....shameful behavior..... *shakes head*

My apologies on that score, it all happened before I joined. I just thought it was a nicely done head and one that showed the SSC head in the best light.

I was just posting the other day about the number of threads I've dug through on here where a seriously talented person who'd been around awhile suddenly just went bad.

Just off the top of my head, it's boot25, Unsunghero, Hanouman, darkartist, Hurricane, Blindvoyeur - and now this guy leswalker? All apparently pretty major people on these boards in their time. It's a little creepy to see the initial excitement in those threads turn to uncertainty turn to vitriol and resignation.

It's really sad how often this happens.

And those artists were charging more for repaints than the figures themselves cost at the time, so there was no money issue. Greed, lazyness and ego with a few life issues here and there.

I feel bad sometimes for people waiting the 2-3 week I get decal rounds out. I could not live with myself having people wait 2-3 years for something.

I don't buy much stuff from customizers now because of the past issue, unless I have trust in the person. That and the guys now way overcharge. :lol
