Just a little WIP. Pretty happy with it so far. Trying my best to recreate the Raiders “Hero” Fedora DD315081-2E96-4FC7-9E1C-2A63E473ACB0.jpeg
I think it looks very different from the Treasure Hunter sculpt. It’s incredible what the hat does for this head!C58B9859-D3C5-4086-AB71-8816712E8F23.jpeg

It’s the medicom Indiana Jones hat.
This one:

I submerged the brim in hot what’re, and reshaped it, I then held while leaning into the freezer to hold the brim shape, now I’ve started on the crown.
Oh! And to answer your question, it’s just sculpey form. For something like this, epoxy is probably better but I like this stuff. Doesn’t self harden so I can take my time. I will brush over it with a blow dryer for a while to harden the clay and prevent damages to the base hat.

I did the same with my 1/4 Diamond Indy hat with hot water and then I trimmed it down.

I am sure I have one of those medicom hats somewhere. I will need to find it and follow your example! I have been using sculpey to make some indy grail tablets and other stuff. It's pretty good.

Nice work so far. I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

I’ve had this hat for almost 10 years haha I used the medicom Indiana Jones head on my first Ondy for a brief time.
This head will go on my updated Indiana Jones figure with the Iris outfit.
Will be a huge step up from the SS Trevor Grove sculpt! Haha yeah I’m still using it.

I still think the Trevor sculpt was pretty damn good, especially when you look at the product available from any line 11 years ago. It just needed a real paint job:

Yes I agree. I still really like that sculpt. I have recently repainted one and also have repainted my Sideshow Kingdom and German disguise Indy heads. I will try and post some pics later.

So if anyone is experienced in painting and resculpting, and is willing to take on a project lmk. I did a lot of the work on this Indiana Jones head and hat and would like someone more experienced to finish him off. Pm me and we will go through the details.
Or if you guys can refer me to someone, that’d be appreciated

What happened?

Nothing really. Haha I’m just dealing with some real life stuff and I don’t have much time to work on these things. Besides that, this head looks a lot better than I anticipated. I want someone more professional to finish it and get it to its highest potential. I never intended on painting it. But I was going to sculpt the ears and hair. Still may give it a shot. Just for pride lol

You should. I always get a real sense of satisfaction after I put together a custom knowing that I did most of it my self. My painting skills are mediocre but when I look at my figures I know I did that. If I paid money for someone better to finish them off it just wouldn't mean as much to me.

Check out my Nepal Indy with the Medicom hat. I will probably tinker about with it more but I think it looks pretty good so far.

Looks great man! I respect the fact that it’s all your work and your use of those hasbro parts. I may have a SS jacket and shirt if you wanted to upgrade at some point.

Thanks for the offer. I appreciate that Rogster. I actually have tons of different Sideshow and Hot Toys clothing including numerous jackets but I really like the Hasbro one. I put buckles and silver zippers on them and glue down the collars.

My three Hot Toys jackets are all slowly falling apart, that despite me hardly having done anything major with them at all. The quality is not good enough in my opinion, just like with the flimsy belts and the strap on the satchel.

I'm really hoping the Iris jacket delivers.
