Thanks mighty_jabba.

@rogerbee

Yeah i know. Two indys are still headless.

By the way anyone got some spare indy pants and belt? Doing a crusade indy also.

Thanks

The thing with my Indy is that I've only ever had one of everything. Multiples were always beyond my price range. I was lucky in a way as I did get what I do have when they were still reasonably cheap.

Just got Mike's whip in the mail today. Couldn't be happier with it! He nailed my 'Streets of Cairo' request on the head! I'll post pics when I get home from work tonight.

My WGP smiling sculpt just arrvied. It is fantastic. I like the detail of the facial features and the hat is very well done. It seems to be a little bigger than the Hot Toys sculpt. I can't judge exactly as my HT sculpt is now bbl's great german Indy. Will post pics after I paint it. Great job WGP!

Cool can't wait to see it :).

Best,

Robert

My WGP Trad head arrived earlier,

Well, it isn't quite as bad as other pics made it out to be, however, it's not all good either. It has the same problems as the HT head does in that it's too small and it is emphasised by the hat.

Sufficed to say that I won't be using it on my final Indy as I will stick with the SSC sculpt. If anyone has a Medicom Indy and wants a better head then this one will be right up your street!

Here are some quick and dirty pics, as I'm not using it I didn't bother futzing the outfit any:

So there you go, one day you'll see the final figure, complete with the correct head......

How accurate is the HT revolver? I've been looking for a replacement since my SSC one fell to bits. The chamber and mechanism is in pieces as is the safety catch/hammer retainer.

In case you don't know, the hammer is held in by the safety catch and the little pin it is on is a bear to put back into the hole it came from. I haven't managed it once!

I'm currently using an old DML Victory, it's a nice shape and size but the butt is incorrect.

That sculpt is an enigma. It's definitely too small, and the hat seems too small as well. But the sculpt looks pretty good when it's all white like that, especially the profile. The profile looks spot on. But when it's painted even by the best out there, the likeness disappears.

Got my mfisher set today!!! :yess:

It looks great. I'm now trying to find the right post that really showcases how cool it looks on the figure.

Congrats! Mfisher's stuff is the best!

I wasn't sure where to post this, but wanted to let everyone know, teefury has a nice Indiana Jones t-shirt today:

Thanks for posting! Pretty cool.

The 2 major issues with the WGP head are that it is too elongated in both the profile and front aspect.

The 'sculptor' (3D modeller more like!) doesn't make use of the virtual cameras in ZBrush, the defaults, which is what appear to have been used, are all wrong for creating a good 3D head. There is as much lens distortion going on there as there is with an actual camera. You combat it virtually the same way you do actually, whereby you alter the focal length.

My other hobby is 3D art and there was a virtual version of the model Reby Sky that a professional photographer was helping the software company to create. I asked him why the virtual one didn't look like his photos and he explained that the focal length of the virtual camera in the 3D software was wrong. He suggested a focal length of 120mm. I adjusted my virtual camera to that and my renders then looked like his photos.

If the Zbrush artists creating the heads like the WGP ones make this one adjustment then their work will look a lot better. 3D printers can only put out what someone puts in. This is why trad sculpts, as in those done physically, are often better as human eye is better than any virtual camera.

Post this in the WGP thread!

Got my WGP Trad Indy back from Nathan yesterday. I opted for a lighter colored hat than he usually paints. I love it!

It may be time for some mfisher gear now! ;)

That's a nice photo. I feel that there's a surreal quality to SilentSurfer's studio photos that make his paint-ups look like illustrations rather than a tangible object, so it's nice to see something in natural light that shows off the work that's been done.

It's a great sculpt and a great paint job, I'm just not sure it fits with my Indy, literally and figuratively. I might end up shaving off some of the neck adapter in my TTM-19 to thin the neck out. . . I just won't know until my head gets here.

:impatient:

Ah well at least someone is happy,

I will be when I'm done, or at least I hope I will be. My quest has been to create an Indy I'm happy with. Whether or not that will please everyone is by the by, after all I'm making him for me.
