I think this is the first consensus I've seen on this board in a long time. I've yet to hear anyone say "I've gotta have the fridge and this price is great!"

Is the fridge really that important to warrant polystone? $225? Come on! I'm a big Indy fan, and I love all the movies, i even have a Toys McCoy figure that I will never part with, but $225 for a refrigerator is crazy. And I think that making an Indy with his mouth open is a bad idea too. Look at the Jed Luke, and the Stormtrooper Luke. Something looks a bit off having afigure wity their mouths open. Kind of reminds me of those talking G.I.Joe Dukes from a year ago. Think I'll pass on this one.

As for the fridge being polystone, I would imagine that means that how you see it on display is it, I don't imagine a closing of the door is possible, unless the door is plastic.
I just don't imagine the fridge's novelty factor is enough for anyone to feel like spending more than $30 to have a fridge, no matter what it's made of. It's a really interesting choice to include with him at the level of the idol pedistal and Ark, 2 things that were far more special and relevant for Indy than a refrigerator.

Not sure if I'll even order the regular version now. I already have the Medi version. Yes, this one is superior to the Medi one, but how many KOTCS Indies do I need? Kind of really makes me rethink my collecting. Not I don't even now if I want to keep Henry Sr. I've got the Medi version and it's just fine.
You know, for $225 I could catch a flight to San Diego for SDCC and get more enjoyment out of 4 days of the show than spending the money for this figure, when I put it into perspective.
Now I wonder if the fertility idol is going to be that good for $190, when a
12" figure costs more than a 1:1 replica.

Well, it sounds like the unsold Belloq and Toht exclusives are going to have some company. Sideshow really needs to judge it's market better. 1/6 collectors don't care about polystone, otherwise we'd collect statues. Just because something is plastic doesn't automatically make it low-end.

I'm not opposed to $225 figures so long as you get quality and value. I'm not feeling it with this at all. The 'perceived value' just isn't there. I'm trying hard to remember the last SS figure that I got where I felt 'wow, what a good deal for all you get'. Maybe the first Indy or Gandalf. These larger accessories give the fig a nice PF vibe but is polystone really necessary? Especially when similar results, if slightly lesser results can be achieved with plastic for far, far less cost?
Maybe the ed size will be very small. But even if they only made 10 of them I wouldn't bite.
