I just hate how the jacket flares out at the front like that. I don't get why they made it that way.
The promo version had straight edges too, where this has rounded corners. It's just looks super weird now.
And they also made the sleeves far too short. For me personally, this figure is a huge disappointment.
I suppose I'll just have to pick up some spare pieces and make my own RE2R Claire. Really hope they haven't messed up the Classic version too somehow.

They aren't that short on mine or other I've seen in the pics. I actually moved them up like in the game. This is the shrunken jacket right? That would explain the shorter sleeves.

Not a big problem. This leather is pliable. I already stretched the sleeves back to the original length

Not a big problem. This leather is pliable. I already stretched the sleeves back to the original length

I wouldn't have thought the sleeves could be stretched out like that, but that definitely looks much better.
I might have to grab a few spare parts from this kit now. lol

Either that, or whoever worked on this jacket was too rough with it and is trying to chalk it up to flaking. No way that should be happening.

Just got Claire in today. Jacket isn't that bad in person. The headsculpt expression is too wide eyed and makes it look a bit "dead". It does look great on the shelf though and as with Leon, it comes with a great amount of accessories.

However for people who are questioning those flaking jackets, I just got it not more than 2 hours ago. After super careful handling, mine has already begun to flake and already peeled at 2 spots. This is NOT because of people being rough with the jacket, it is simply not durable material. This is a big issue and I already reached out to my retailer.

The last two pictures show the flaking issues.

Well nevermind then about my previous (now deleted) post That's really unfortunate. Mine is fine so far so I guess it's just not consistent. I wonder how some could modify and shrink it with no problems. Is it not really leather? Or is it paint peeling off the leather?

Should have just gone with pleather and have the jacket actually look better.

As RRX said, there's a reason companies don't use real leather for these figures, outside of cost. It's just not done properly at this scale. Hope they offer some sort of better replacement jacket for those getting hit with this.

It may be paint? I'm not quite sure, maybe it's something to do with change in temperature or environment during shipping?

Either way I'm super surprised at the flaking, I didn't notice it until it was in the shelf. All I did was put the belt pouch and accessories on it and did some light poses.

It's really too bad, I hope someone can get you a replacement! I'm disappointed with Damtoys, I was on their side with the jacket material and now this happens lol. I wonder if they'll do anything about it if they get a lot more complaints when it's fully released with retailers here in the US.
