I wasn’t trying to scare you guys or whatever…. just wanted you guys to be aware of this issue. Wether it’s a defect or not.

Sorry if my earlier post seemed directed at you, it was directed at whoever took the original pics, I assumed it was someone who was modding the jacket and wrecked it by mistake and didn't explain how it happened, but now it looks like that might not be the case. I appreciate you sharing the photo with all of us.

Just got Claire in today. Jacket isn't that bad in person. The headsculpt expression is too wide eyed and makes it look a bit "dead". It does look great on the shelf though and as with Leon, it comes with a great amount of accessories.

However for people who are questioning those flaking jackets, I just got it not more than 2 hours ago. After super careful handling, mine has already begun to flake and already peeled at 2 spots. This is NOT because of people being rough with the jacket, it is simply not durable material. This is a big issue and I already reached out to my retailer.

The last two pictures show the flaking issues.

Oh man, that is painful to see. Especially considering how darn expensive this figure is.

The flaking almost looks like it might be synthetic leather instead of the real thing. I've seen the fake stuff peel exactly like that on a real life jacket.
So either it's just really bad quality leather, or Dam decided to lie to everyone and use the fake stuff, and then call it "real" leather in their description.
I almost feel sorry for Damtoys though. I can't recall them ever having used leather for any of their figures before, so this being a first and with results like this, well, crap, just sucks for everyone really.
And I doubt it very much that they will make a new pleather style jacket to replace the current one for free. Considering the backlash this figure has already gotten with the Asian collector community, I hope Capcom will still allow Damtoys to continue the RE franchise. They don't seem to be very happy with Claire as is...and thats before the peeling issue even came up.

Welp, that's disappointing. I thought this site was interesting... apparently the term 'leather' is not regulated in the US. So here it could be bonded leather and they can say, 'yep, it's leather!'. I hope it doesn't get as bad as shown here.

Does anyone have a random drop of paint on the front of the pants towards the belt, and on the back right side pocket? Its weird that it was placed there? Don't remember that in the game lol

Disappointing. Promo info just said jacket is made of “leather material”, based on pics, it looked like bonded leather, thus longevity is not guarenteed.

That's actually kind of cool. Probably would have been too difficult to add real pocket wear though

Overall I'm very happy with this figure, although it's far from perfect, however:

1. The jacket requires a lot of posing work to hide its flaws, I recommend removing the shoulder pads.
2. The face requires correct lighting.

The accessories... are wonderful

This figure has been an emotional rollercoaster
I almost cancelled my preorder many times but am glad that I didn’t. This figure is not perfect by any means but it is still the best 1/6 rendition of Claire IMO.

Not a disappointment at all IMO sure the jacket is a little off but I wasn’t going to display her wearing it anyway. The classic Claire will be sporting her jacket!

I have absolutely nowhere to display figures right now so have about eight in boxes just waiting until I move, but I wanted to take a pic to compare the height of Claire and the SW Jill, so here it is, a crappy picture taken on top of a washing machine. I know this Jill isn't popular, but I wanted to hold onto it long enough to compare the sizes which I can now I have the Claire figure; I used to own the Locomotive Girl Claire and it was tiny.

The size comparison between these two figures is better than I thought it would be, so I'll keep this Jill at least until / if a Damtoys Jill is previewed.

I hope damtoys will make the Jill after all. Playing RE4 remake right now (the original was already one of my faves ever) and Im completely Blown away. This would be the one that I skip in form of a figure and wait for some brutal statue diorama (preferably P1)

Just got home and unboxed the figure and I've also got one of the flaky version of the jacket unfortunately.I contacted giantoy to see if they can help me with it somehow.
Hopefully it can be fixed though,I won't be touching the figure till I get word back from them. Such a shame, especially for the price we are paying for this one.
