It will be interesting to see which R2-D2 height Sideshow goes with, the 107.5 cm of some of the props that have been on public display, or the 96 cm according to Lucasfilm.

Is this the same Lucasfilm that's telling me Greedo shot 1st? Go with the prop measurements, which puts this R2 right on the money.

Sideshow would be wise to look through this thread, cause if a $30 clock ends up looking better scale-wise (in most people's eyes) than a $100 "collector" figure, "they'll be hell to pay" as Owen says:lol. For my purposes, scale is more important that lights that work and various arm accessories, and I'm not alone given the Medicom debates. Please SS, get us an R2 in (prop) scale AND with gizmos!

In the meantime, I can't wait to get this and throw it up next to my figs.

107.5. Anything less is too small; to our eyes and knowledge of the character. Lucasfilm SHAME on you for false measurements, unless that's an error. Maybe Jar Jar measured him? :monkey4

I didn't think Jar Jar could even count let alone measure something . He does know where his butt is though since is head is always up it.

I stuck this in the medi thread, but it's s relevant here I guess...

Very nice piece for under £40, too big to pose with the medi as seen here, but in my opinion perfect size for a Hasbro C3PO counterpart, and hopefully would look good next to whatever Sideshow eventually put out.
Only down side? Couple of small White plastic buttons on the back for setting the clock, bit not very noticeable, oh, and the retractable leg on mind is a bit shonky! Pulls right out of the socket! And doesn't lock in place very well. Otherwise, sweet.

No update from the US Post office website , I hope I have this by tomorrow , I've waited awhile for this one to arrive .

Anyone know if the Post Office requires someone sign for it.

Missed him at home today cause I have to sign for him, but in an hour, he'll be back at the branch so I can pick him up. I've never been so eager to get a damn clock.:lol Pics to follow.

Ok so I do have to sign for it . Mine left NY on the 8th and your in NY and am getting it today so it looks like it won't be until maybe tomorrow or Monday/ Tuesday of next week that I get mine .

Fortunatly my wife will be home tomorrow when the mail comes and I have a neighbor who can sign for it during the week , or if worse comes to worse pick it up the following morning from the post office.

I think Taito uses the clock angle as a front so they can produce 1:6 scale action figures . Who ever heard of a clock that is fully functional as a toy . The clock is even hidden under a panel on it. From what I've seen and read and sounds like its money well spevnt since we won't see an SS Artoo for close to 2 years and Medicoms is out of scale and way too much money.

Where's the suggestion box? I want a 3-PO "clock", a Tarkin "clock", and a Chewie "clock". :lol Get on it Taito

Yeah Lordscum, yours has got to be pretty close. I'm in western NY, maybe ours were even in the same spot at one point. Sandcrawler buddies so-to-speak, rumbling along the Thruway in a beat up USPS truck, waiting to be pawned off on their future owners. Utini!!
