I never understood that helmet. what's the use?

maybe its supposed to be something like a welders mask where you cant see out of it unless there is very bright light.

What's so nonsensical about it? It's a helmet that also has a blast shield on it that you can put down to protect your eyes from the light of something like a bright explosion.

Thats what I always figured as well. But then again, I am a SW/Lucas apologist.

Of course that's why Ben gave it to him. We're talking about what the (original) intended purpose of the helmet was.

OK, my Christmas treat to myself: I tweaked the paint job on my SSD Old Ben in 1/6 scale.

Of course that's why Ben gave it to him. We're talking about what the (original) intended purpose of the helmet was.

I just assumed it was like a welders helmet or an item Ben had so he could help train Luke someday. I especially thought the latter after seeing AOTC.

I modified him so that the clothing lays more naturally, and he hopefully has more of the Alec Guinness "silhouette" - the sloped shoulders as opposed to the horizontal ones you get when you pile 3 layers of 1/6 scale clothing on a figure.
