No FOMO bait & switch like last time with 500 limited at Sideshow (only for it to pop up at OSK after it sold out)?

This is labeled as “Limited Edition” but as far as I can tell, it’s not a numbered run and there are no Sideshow EX accessories.

Honestly, with hot toys forgetting OT, I’m most excited about these and endor han. This is probably our only chance to get cantina aliens (slim chance hot toys would make greedo). I’m going to throw some rewards at this and hope for the best. He looks fine and they will make a nice display. Overpriced? Absolutely. But sideshow has us by the plums with these so I’m in and bring on the overpriced skiff guards.

Yep on all of the above. I'm excited for some other stuff like the Ahsoka line but these were must haves. I had a $20 thank you code that I was able to use to bring this down to only being $100 over priced...nonetheless I have them all ordered as well. Along with my Sideshow Hammerhead and Cantina band member, it'll make a nice little cantina corner...

The cantina band would be a nice 2.0. I skipped them the first time and always regretted it. Easy money for sideshow because lunatics like me would buy multiple. Include all of the instruments with each one and print money.

This one is harder than the other creature-based figs though - it's just a super basic human with a super basic outfit you could cobble together for under $50. It's really all about the headsculpt and even that is a 7 or 8 out of 10 to me (something proportionately off to the face.)

And I see this guy as basically a glorified display accessory for Walrusman. i.e without Walrus alongside anchoring the display I'm not sure there's a huge amount of display mojo to him.

I'm seeing if one of those random $25 off coupon codes pops up when I visit the site to determine whether I grab this now or continue to mull it.

I find the heads on those SSC band members to be too small, so if they do another band I hope it's a new sculpt like they did with Greedo (wasn't a fan of that old SSC Greedo sculpt either.) Interestingly, the Hasbro cantina band heads I thought were a better size match and weren't too bad in terms of sculpt either.

I'll readily admit that (unlike most here) I'm not up on the names of some of these minor SW characters from the OT (probably because I was already too old for their toy versions when the movies first came out), but when did they decide that this low-life was a DOCTOR? A doctor of what?? :lol

Ironically, he's a cosmetic surgeon. :lol

Though he did disfigure his victims with his freakish experiments, thereby earning himself the death sentence on a dozen systems.

He was responsible for the freaky Decraniated in Rogue One and Solo.

Wookieepedia charts the history of his name, and possibly the year he became doctor:

The name "Evazan" originated in Galaxy Guide 1: A New Hope, a 1989 Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game supplement written by Grant S. Boucher.[62] "Doctor Death: The Tale of Dr. Evazan and Ponda Baba," a short story written by Kenneth C. Flint for the 1995 anthology book Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina, created the name "Cornelius" as an alias of Evazan's,[63] while The Official Star Wars Fact File 51 from 2002 was the first source to establish the character's full name as Cornelius Evazan.[64]

So they basically made up a bunch of additional stuff about him starting 12 years after his brief appearance in Star Wars. I'll add that to the list of other things I never needed to know. :lol
