Just my opinion but I am passing on this figure for atleast a year. He looks great but the way they did the head doesnt give him that menacing look that ESB snowtrooper had....just doesnt look right so I guess its back to clones for me :nana:

not sure if it's just this photo, but I'm not liking the helmet. The snow trooper is my least favorite stormtrooper and I never cared for the helmet, but this looks worse. Would like to see more photos though.

The bulging creases don't look natural. I'll be replacing mine with PVC vinyl.

Going to be hard to get the scale of the creases right using PVC. You'd almost need a white shopping bag that is heavily crumpled and getting it to sit right is going to be tough. Interested to see how everyone tries their different methods.

I may just cast the hard part of the helmet and redo the goggles a bit with styrene. Fortunately, it's not a particularly complex sculpt.

Bottom line is, even though these are some issues with the figure, they are all in one area and are somewhat easily fixable by creating a new helmet (i.e. not using the actual SSC helmet - "fixing" the goggles or eye slits on it without ruining it would be extremely tough.)

Same here... just doesn't look as intimidating. I just got into this hobby 3 months ago and kind of made a rule for myself to only buy exclusive clone troopers so I don't go off spending money like a mad man. Snow Trooper didn't come out as I hoped so I'm passing on him too. Happy I'm sticking to my rule and saving money but sad cuz my favorite OT trooper didn't come out as I hoped.

I'll try both and see which works the best. I have plenty of white shopping bags. ;)

I almost didn't get him. Not sorry, I like the way he came out. Like you I only collect exclusive ssc and didn't want to miss it. So, $161, ship and tax.

Mixing soft goods and plastic never works well. Most of the Hasbro figures that do it, end up looking off. As much as I was pulling for this figure, I know it's a pass based on the helmet.

I'd rather have soft goods for the helmet and have to adjust it just right, than have plastic which will always look static.

I think this thing looks really good. The rubber mask was probably the best way to go I think. Be interested in seeing if anyone customizes it.
I flexed, but the last payment went through already. Why do the flex products ship so behind?

I will eventually pick this guy up but he is low on my priority list which is long. Maybe someday I will buy one and redo the head.

Aside from the squinting eyes he looks good. The same mask/veil might look odd on more than a single figure in a row though. Anyway cannot wait for mine :)

I think he does look a bit sad versus badass, but I feel like the mask will just blend in like any other trooper. The uniformity is akin to all the rest. Maybe not screen accurate, but surely shelf worthy.

This is a ringing endorsement of this figure - jkno really knows his stuff.:lecture

Its definitely they eyes that make this look weird. I tried to make it a little better with
the paint app on my CPU but SS should have gotten this right. Totally a different figure
with the eyes corrected.

Finally was able to open mine!
Amazing figure!!
I took some crappy pics,
will upload shortly.

Bummer about the non-fabric mask. We need to learn to not trust things said at Conventions, almost always wrong.

Aside from that it looks great. Also just got my notice, he'll be here Monday.

If I remember correctly SS said soft goods? That includes soft rubber :dunno

:cuckoo::cuckoo: j/k
:lol
It's my favorite Stormie so I might be biased, but this figure is awesome!!
