Fantastic shots, Brinn & MyenShi!

I don't get what people are not liking about this :dunno

Waiting till Tuesday sux.

Thanks. :wave

It doesn't snow much in the Pacific (would be very dangerous if it did here...) so no outdoor pics for me, unless the Empire sends these troopers on a beach vacation.

I can see the details that are bothering some, but I think it's a bit different seeing the figure in person. Photos didn't do it justice and I just get this feeling that they put a lot of work into the figure when I look at him. I'm certain many people will be happy with him.

The mask looks to be easily removed for those who are really bothered by it. The material is very pliable so it could be reshaped with heat to achieve greater mask diversity among multiple figures. I'll try it on the next one I get. The only real issue I had with my figure are soft hands, very hard to remove wrist pegs, and that the backpack pegs come loose a bit too easily.

That said, the joints on the body are solid, the armor and cloth kit look fantastic, the weathering is well done versus Sideshow's earliest efforts, and he looks cool on the shelf. That's what counts to me.

I really dig the paint job SSC did on these! Best yet. Even the soft parts look like the real McCoy!

Yeah the dome looks too rounded in some pics but in others looks spot-on. And the hands look like oven mitts in some pics and in others looks like just a teeny bit too large to the point that it's not noticeable.:gah:

You just have to put it down to macro/wide vs. zoomed photos - slightly zoomed does seem to give a truer depiction of what it looks like in hand. Wide angle/macro gets the details we want to see up close, but distorts stuff like crazy in some pics.

I really don't think any of these pics were taken with a macro lens.

My Canon Powershot won't give really sharp focus on a photo of a figure that is 6-12 inches away without choosing the macro setting and some of these pics appear to be taken in that range. This one looks badly distorted, and taken from about 6-8 inches:

But even just wide angle lens photos of objects that are 6-12 inches away are going to make parts of the figure look quite different to how they look in hand, or compared to photos taken with a zoomed-in lens from a distance of say three feet. Zoomed-in gives a truer depiction of in-hand viewing.

If you've ever looked at real estate listing pics online and then walked through the same house you know how much a wide angle lens can distort!

I think the Snowtrooper looks great so far.

I am only buying one so I don't have to worry about modding the mask part. However, I was thinking wouldn't it be easy to heat up the rubber with a hair dryer, crinkle it however you like then stick it in cold water to harden it into shape.

I have done similar things with other toys who use soft rubber. I wonder if that would help out the guys who buy more then one.

Not sure if you're joking but he's just illustrating a point, not slamming your photo.

I'm sorry - not meaning to critique your skills or pics (which I appreciate you taking the time to post!) - just pointing out that the gloves won't look like that in person. :peace
