well I am to happy with the HT body suit. I have almost enough parts to create just a rotj vader just need the body suit I have hurricans rotj reveal vader mask

The HT one is very nice (the most accurate of any of the 1/6 jumpsuits as the pleats actually taper to the wrists) but I think it needs a slight dry brush with matte clear just to break up the "shiny licorice lines" slightly. Give it a bit more of that matte/gloss bumpiness you see on the real suit.

Thanks, guys. :)

Just put everything together. The dome is just on there with blu-tack. Something still doesn't seem right to me about the proportions though, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Perhaps the legs are slightly too long? Or the neck too short? Any input is appreciated. :)

I think it looks pretty great as is! My only opinions:

As for futzing, I would raise the belt, codpiece, and chest armor ever so slightly. Maybe extending the neck slightly, but I think the biggest issue at this point is the dome. I personally tried to work with the ssv2 dome on the kaiyodo mask and couldn't be happy with it. Even on hurricanes. I'm going to attempt to use the hasbro dome with some mods.

I really like the cape and how you've futzed it. Did you make it?

Thanks. I raised the chest armour and helmet slightly yesterday, I think that already helps a bit. I still feel his legs already appear a bit long, so I'm a bit undecided about raising the belt and codpiece even more. I'll try it out and compare to some more reference picture, though. :)

I know what you mean about the dome, in some angles the SSC one looks really good, and in others you really notice the flaws. I might shorten it some more ever so slightly, especially in the back to improve the look some more. Another dome really is ideal, but I think I'll wait to see what HT comes up with. Modifying the shape of another dome would mean repainting and glossing it. I already had enough troubles glossing the chest armour without brush strokes, I don't want to do that on a dome. :lol

And yes, I made the cape myself. :) It's currently simply attached to the chest armour with double sided tape to get it to lie/drape like that.

Wow, he looks awesome! Really came together. You did a great job on the paint, especially if you used a brush. I see what you mean about the long legs. No way to shorten them? Raising everything doesn't help, especially when you start to reveal the high waisted sagging look the HTs jumpsuit has.

Thanks, man. How is your Vader coming along, did you get a HT suit? I assume the hurricane helmet will still take some time.

I actually got out a ruler yesterday, and measured the ratio of the height above his belt (to the tip of the dome) vs the area beneath it (to the ground). :lol Used several screenshots and on set pics where his whole body is visible. Of course it can vary due to different lenses, camera position, poses, and actual belt placements, but I found it was surprisingly consistent, and pretty much in line with my current setup.

I will look into the idea again of making my own inner robe this weekend. That plus the gloves is pretty much the only thing left to do. :) Oh, and shorten the skirt of the dome a bit more.
