I thought that too when I first saw the pics, but was unsure so I didn't mention it (didn't want to make the faux pas of making a hasty declaration like I did when I stated the Cobra Viper came with a SCAR based on the assault rifle's stock when in reality it's an ACR). But the more I think about it...

Look behind the Cobra Ninja's head...what looks to be the head band's flared ends looks to me like the stave of a crossbow. Could be wrong, but a small handheld crossbow like the ninjas had in The Last Samurai would be awesome.
