RE: rank badge

That's the only oversight that stands out to me now. And there doesn't seem to be a non-destructive answer to it.

Remove it from the pocket, back it with double-sided fabric tape, super-impose it onto the pocket. Done. Reversible. ;)

The head-scratcher for Han is the zip on the short jacket: extra product and extra work for no reason.

I think the biggest issue is the jacket is missing flaps that would cover the zipper. On the original jacket worn in the movie you only see flaps - how did it close? I'd imagine a zipper or velcro. Whatever the case, extra fabric covering the zipper would make the issue moot.

The rank badge seems like the wrong dimensions overall. The pocket that holds it also incorrect dimensions and in the wrong place. Putting the badge over the pocket is the best non-destructive and non-make-something-new solution, IMO. There are a few photos from other members that show this with great results.

Maybe the easiest solution would be a decal and a small piece of styrene. At that size you don't really need the bumps for each button.

Yeah, the non-functioning zipper is a complete head scratcher. I'll probably just remove the jacket unless the added bulk is necessary to get a good look out of the figure.

The small round velcro fasteners don't seem to stay on worth a damn. I'm going with velcro strips instead.

A number of the Echo Base rebels have the rank badge glued over the pocket, so it is screen accurate, just not for Luke.

Anybody found a substitute fabric for that awful synthetic material they used for the scarf that has the correct color? Need to replace the scarf and paint the headgear the correct color.

anyone try using the scarf from the hasbro hoth luke. it would be the same color after the dye job and you could adjust the height of it by sewing it after cuttting it to certain length.

That's not a bad idea. It may also accommodate a wire inside for posing since it has a hem.

Huh, my Hasbro Hoth Luke doesn't have a scarf - and he went straight from box onto shelf where he is now. Weird.

So I have Luke on the Pro 1.0... and next to the Han on a stock body the heights work out well. So, I think it's the cheapest and best looking option if you want to get a better scaled Luke. At least I prefered it to the using a HT Slim.

It looks like the individual boxed figure oddly did not include the scarf? Maybe the one that was included with the Wampa did? I'm not even sure I still have my Hasbro 12" and if I do they are buried in a box at a storage unit somewhere. In any case, the scarf has got to be replaced.

Get a hair dryer or boil them and pull out the ankle pegs with needle nose pliers... REAL hard! :lol

Have you done it? I tried with pliers before I wrote this and they wouldn't budge. I thought maybe they were glued in or something as they seem to be weighted a little like the HT ones. I'll give it a go.

I use toupe tape or "top stick" for this kind of project. It's available at most beauty supply stores. It's easy to use, tough-as-nails and easily removable.

Yes I used a hair dryer and heated the inside of the boots for about a minute and pulled REALLY REALLY hard and then it popped out but it was a PITA! :lol Then I pushed in the Hot Toys ankle balls while they were still hot. I switched mine over to a Truetype body.

Thanks for the tip. I remember having to go to Sally Beauty for some clear nail polish or something for another project and my wife was wondering why I had to go to a beauty store. :lol

The boots have no feet in them. Just split boot/feet. Ankle pegs are a ***** to get out. Boil and pop or hairdryer works well. I have a heat gun I use in just such an emergency.

Just a heads-up for everyone:
The white elastic strap used for the goggles will fail. SS used the same material for the Rebel Trooper chin straps. I had to replace the straps on my Trooper and Captain Antilles. The elastic interior is latex like a regular rubber band. It gets dry and brittle and eventually breaks. You can buy the same stuff at any fabric store, but it has a pretty short life span.

luke hoth 3.jpg I just did the hot toys luke hoth mod. and I switched out the body and used the dx luke body.i was surprised the ssc ankle joints in side the hoth boots fit on the dx body with out having to remove the joints. I decided to use the Hasbro hoth jacket and the Hasbro scarf I think it turned out good.
