All this hate is hilarious to me.
I'm a 38 year old man who by all accounts has given up on "toy" collecting for serious real life issues but this is one of very few all time wants in the 1/6th scale format for my very selective collection.

Sideshow has hit a grand slam for the price here. Hot Toys would have easily charged another 75 to 100 bones for a finished product maybe 10% better. Maybe.

Sure the jacket could be a little better. Sure the head sculpt could have been a little tighter. But seriously kids, did you ever really think we would get a licensed Snake Plissken with all the goodies produced by a company like sideshow? It's not like there is a million people clamoring for this release.

This figure is for people like me and some of you too who want to complete their collection with what really gets their engine going. I do not see Hot Toys doing jack **** for the fringe collector. All I see is mass market iron man figures times 1000. Or the occasional cheap **** Arnold Schwarzenegger figure. You want my money Hot Toys? Make a movie accurate Conan.

I'm looking forward to what Sideshow brings to Cult Classic table going forward. I expect Ash to take his place right next to Snake and my sorry ass Connor and Kurgan (old school bad sideshow for the whiners) soon.

Now make a Deckard and Batty and this not so bitchy collector will have his complete collection.

I agree with ya...Snake may not be as good as people were expecting...But being an EFNY fanatic like I am, I will hopefully be able to live with the negatives about this figure...I have personally avoided looking at the production photos people have posted on here, so that I can look at it for the first time in person...I'll make my judgement then, and if it's too sub-par, I'll just return it...And I won't be out anything...

Not to sound like a hot toys fanboy or anything but in all fairness hot toys have been pretty good in their coverage of 80's sci fi movies from terminator to aliens to Robocop. Now they are covering commando and the likes and im sure we'll be getting more iconic characters from them in the future like john mcclane etc. Sure They do tend to focus on iron man a lot but they also are now covering star wars and other franchises. You can't deny they are huge franchises and that's what hot toys primarily deals with which I can live with as they also do fringe characters and do them very well from time to time. I'm sure they will do a conan figure in the future also as they do tend to listen to their fans.

Another thing is the figures you get from hot toys are pretty spot on to the prototypes shown which the same cannot be said of sideshow and their releases. The final snake figure looks so far off the prototype pics its not funny and clearly there's some photoshopping going on. Its looks so fake looking and far removed from the prototype pics that its like a bad joke really.

If you wish the likeness to be equal to that bust, then you should be very happy with SS's offering.

I hope that was an attempt at humor. That figure is a nod to the Mego figures and does a good job of conveying it. I'm keeping my order, but you can't blame others for complaining; it's deserved. For $30 it's hard to complain as opposed to $160.

It is indeed very hard to argue with people blinded by and dedicated to nostalgia.

Anyway, any counter-criticism is an automatic failure when you can compare what Asian companies with zero reputation can do for the same price. Just look at the recently released Kung Lao by WorldBox, which is also licensed.

that bust is the "ill never get laid' version of plissken, its horrible looking. the ss figure looks way better than that. the likeness is way off, he looks really fat in the face and mongoloidish.

I agree with everything people are saying . When I canceled my preorder , it didn't mean I wasn't going to get the figure at some point . I just need to see more pics and videos .

Jesus why can't the character be created at any respectable level whatsoever lol.

Obviously the mego thing is not good but in all honestly I totally thought it was the SS figure at first glance. The jacket and outfit looks just as bad lol.

In terms of quality, that $30 figure looks to be almost on the same level with Sideshow's $150 1:6 figure.
