The short pants really prevent anything besides walking or standing. I kind of wanted to do the DVD cover pose of him crouching with a sniper rifle, but the pants completely prevent that.

Excellent review as always Michael! I feel that your photos display the figure nicely.

So is the eye really like PERS? Can you adjust the position of the snowflake eyeball inside of the socket?

I didn't say it was a PERS eye - I said the seam in the head was noticeable, not as bad as some of the PERS heads, but noticeable.

And thanks for the kind words, folks!

It is a nice review, Michael...I always look forward to your reviews...It's also sad that, being an iconic figure, it had to get one of the lowest scores your reviews usually give...But, that goes to show just how bad some of the areas of this figure are...And I too agree with pretty much everything you said in the review...

Having said that, I'm still waiting to see what kind of customizing people will do with the accessories...The guns can definately be made to look alot better...I just want to see some of the work others on here will do before I try it on my own...As was mentioned awhile back, I wish someone would start a customizing thread on this figure...

I think most of the figure is salvageable. The boots could use a little bit of heat treatment to reform the ankle positioning, the belt can be weathered and given detail, we have already seen what great artists like Ray can do with the jacket and head...the one thing I have a hard time reconciling is that awful shirt. I wish Spenser would do a run of just his shirts as replacements.

With regard to weathering the trousers, the tea soaking makes them look good.

However, on starting to re-watch the film last night, his trousers so far are remarkably clean. The white would be good enough for a washing powder advert.

In the exterior shots the white appears more blue, but inside they're like Sideshow's.

Only got halfway through, so anything could happen!

"Argh...me eye patch is on the other side!"
Is that right from the movie? Looks like the film reversed the negative. Maybe on purpose for flow. Who knows?

I wouldn't exactly say my review was positive, but I was more upset by things like the accessories and outfit than the head sculpt and paint, where most other people seem to have been focused.

What did you think of the body? I liked the sturdy nature and proportions of the Drake body. Is this the same / similar?

With the exception of the elbows, I like the body. The boots screw up the posability, but that's not the body's fault.

Thanks guys, I receive mine this week. Then I fire off the head to Ray Ferraro to work his magic on and I'll look at weathering that jacket up.

Very happy to be getting to be getting snake in 1/6 scale, just a bit of a shame SS qc seems so lax.

Spoilers so I don't upset anyone.. If you like the figure don't click.
Looks like a really good Hasbro job.....that hair, the face, the lack of paint...yikes.... I'm sorry, I'm sorry....:(

Rory, I hope you get this: I want to see what your skills will do to help this look halfway decent.

I want a Snake figure, but I got really burnt with their Drake figure, it's still in parts in its box, 100% not getting this one, but I'm praying to Christopher Reeve that Han Solo Hoth comes out better. :(

There's a chance I'll pick Snake up on discount down the road after seeing all the fixes everyone has made. Unless something possesses me like a "limited quantity" email, I don't want to pull the trigger at full price.

Yea, if the sculpt and paint are as good as Snake on Han, AND they give me the sort of quality accessories and outfit that I expect (particularly at that price), then I'll be perfectly happy with Han. It helps that we've never really gotten a great Ford, including Hot Toys Indy.

As to the pants, I don't know why I thought for some reason in the movie his were more tight fitting and had a snake or something painted down the side of them...Rather than just an urban camo look...

I heard someone mention the cheapness of the guns...And definately the paint has alot to do with that...But it's bugging me because I still can't decide if they look a bit oversized....I want to paint or at least put a "wash" over the Mac-10...Anyone have an idea on an exact paint color that would make it look good?...Same with the "chrome" on the magnum...Is there a good color to repaint it...Or at least a clear or matte finish to tone down the silver?....
