Sideshow is located stateside, the factories are located in China. I'm sure the people behind Art Figures are located closer to the factories over there and can monitor the factories better. Sideshow does very frequently send their people all the way over there to check on production but it's not easy monitoring everything that's going on in production.

Licensed figures also have to get approval from the licensor who sometimes request ridiculous changes to be made. Like when Sarah Michelle Gellar requested Sideshow fix the likeness on her figure when the likeness was from a digital head scan of SMG's actual head and was supremely accurate. Unlicensed figures never have to deal with this.

Also Sideshow has to include the cost of the license into the cost of producing a figure, so that can effect the quality of the factory chosen to make these figures and sourcing the most accurate quality materials.

Hot Toys has better results than SSC because they're located closer to their factories so they can monitor things better and more easily source materials for their factories. They also ask for an arm and a leg for their figures which helps cover the license fees.

Someone from China posted a video explaining that this is not true. Most figures cost around 150.00 over there. Unfortunately they don't have a suggested retail price. American sellers are the ones that put the price on the imported figures.

I think you weren't really listening to what Budget Stark was saying. . . Hot Toys aren't less expensive comparatively. They are still more expensive than non-licensed figures. Everything is more expensive in the States because the figures are imported from China. If I lived in China, ALL 1/6 figures would be much less expensive for me. Hot Toys would cost me $150, and DAM Toys would cost me $100, it's all relative.

Well, after much deliberation I decided to cancel my PO for the EX. Hopefully a fellow Freak gets a waitlist conversion soon. I was (and still am) very nervous about how this will turn out so it's probably best for me to wait until I see in hand pics. If he turns out looking good then I'll probably pick up the regular version later on down the road. Sucks that I'll miss out on the EX, but I wouldn't display him with the tape anyway so I guess it's not too much of a loss.

I believe you missed the point. The whole reason for making the video was to defend the "Hot Toys is greedy" belief.

That definitely has me pumped for the 1/9th scale coming in January. Hopefully we get some rewards for our wait this month in the 1/6th format.

I have asked numerous times and they tell me that expected but they dont really address the reason why. Most of you guys that said on those other months that you had no problem being pushed a month and could wait another is this enough to get mad now ? Now we must band together and request some answers, it been more than a year ! we should bomb their facebook and twitter and CS chat.

No surprise. There's been so many delays that I don't even care when we get another.

glad I canceled this a month ago, the delays are just unacceptable at this point. If the figures turns out good I might
pick one up later down the road.

Sideshow is the delay king....period....only company that I know is pretty much on the money for dates is Weta....

I'm glad I've had plenty other things going on and other releases to distract me from these delays.
