though 1 thing i don't get about Max, is he prefers his magazines & bullets dirty. this is the 1st show i've seen the character has his magazines all facing up, in an environment filled with dust & sand. i know it looks cool having the shinny bullet exposed but don't he think dust & sand will get in the mag & jam his weapons? I know he carries a rifle cleaning kit but for someone who emphasize so much on survival it's hard to believe he would practice such a risky habit. the shinny bullet would also give his position away during sniping.

Thanks for the shout out Luis! Here is my updated version, which is available to order. Only $12USD a piece. PM with inquiries. I also make the Fury Road and Road Warrior boots. The bracelets can be dyed ANY color you'd like :

hi just some comment you might find useless but it's better to shorten the ends & tie a knot as a stopper so they won't slide out of. also you can make 2 slot holes for the end knots when you make the 1st cobra knot by inserting a scrap line between the knot & pull it out when you are done you have 2 eye slots you can slide the ends in instead of 1 big eye. and counting your cobra knots you might have slightly a few too many assuming it's 1mm you're using.

VTS - Art Figures mash up

inderasding you picked the VTS vest but AF Holster coz non of the colors match not even with AF pants. The VTS holster comes with at least screen accurate leg strap. and that inverted leg brace is horrible. at least put the top or bottom strap onto the brace. The flaps on the rifle cleaning kit can be folded behind the kit.

also you chose the VTS knife & AF Boots. Personal preference though.

i would dump the styrofoam in the pouch if i were you. and the pouch should be beside/behind the body. Vest unbuckled. Shoulder Armor should be clamping the vest. The vest looks rather clean though.

did you use the shotgun shells? you can actually use VTS shells they fit in AF shotgun so you have 4 shells on the vest. also where's the sniper bullets? All the magazines should be facing up pointing towards the center. you can use the VTS pistol magazine on top slot and AF magazine at pistol holster.

can see you added studs but i can also see the glue marks. you also use white to weather the clothes, should be light brown though for Light sand and you seem to work only on 1 side. i'm guessing you didn't work on the straws either.

hands too clean. ditch the scarf if you don't want staining.

also an easy way to tidy up the AF rifle sling is cut 2 small piece off the sling and use it to secure the excess on both ends.

Still lots of work & posing need to be done.

First off I've been reading these post to determine which way I wanted to go. Listening to people go back in forth kinda reminds me of every time a new game system comes out and you got people that pit Xbox vs. PlayStation. This is great and that one sucks....no this one is best and you suck...etc. It really doesn't do anything for those of us who are trying to make a inform decision.

Anyway having both the VTS and Art Figure and the Brother Head Sculpt I can honestly say they all have amazing points to each and they are also lacking in certain areas. If I could have only bought one....it would have been the VTS because of the Head Sculpt is outstanding. With that said I didn't have to choose....so, I ended up with a mash up AF with a Brother head sculpt and a VTS version with some tweaks. First off I think the accessories and outfit on the AF are the best hands down. The color and look is more movie accurate, but that body and Head Sculpt? I know a lot of people love it and defend it, but having it in hand there is no defense for it. There was not an angle or lighting or self imposed vision impairment that I ever could ever see Tom Hardy....ever. Owning the piece....it didn't take me long to decide to put the head and body on evilbay as I ordered the Brother Mad Max head. So my mash up is a AF outfit (minus the disco net scarf) with the VTS bracelet, scarf, Med kit, stand, a pair of binoculars, and Brother Head Sculpt. Is it perfect? No but I love it. The VTS is pretty much straight out of the box. I did ditch the UnderArmor boots...I just didn't dig the look. The figure was already taking liberties with the black outfit with the leathers looking more Road Warrior then Fury Road. So I gave him some weathered harness biker boots. Are they movie accurate?....no but again - my figure and I dig it. I added a leather strap to the sniper rifle and I still might take a little off his neck cause he does have a serious giraffe thing going on even with the scarf hiding it. Lastly I will weather his right arm so it matches the hand better and I will also weather the vest...which just looks too clean especially on the pouches.

Anyway for those wondering about the Brother Head Sculpt. I really had to check it against the VTS because I thought it was the same Sculpt just a recast without the neck and with the damage added, but it is a different sculpt all together. The paint work is amazing, the wounds are perfect. Which is the only thing lacking in the VTS sculpt. Despite thinking the Brother head sculpt is pretty damn amazing I do feel like the eyes (pupils and irises) are just slightly too big for this scale and make it look a little off if you look at it straight on.

Take care ~ Jase

VTS wins....no contest...

That other sculpt is way to puffy faced....

They make great sculpts, but the super limited runs and the prices are a big turn off in my opinion.

Look out! A critic.

And that was the sugar coated version!... Maybe potato took exception to the term "mash up"? :wink1: :lol

What ever happened to posting how you like something without getting mashed?
I know sometimes you can feel like you're drowning in a deep fryer.
That you hurt so much, like your soul has been scalloped.
But life can't be all hashbrown mornings, potato salad afternoons and Au gratin nights.
You have to just let people love what they love and not use your mandolin sharp words to
cut them to little edible slices, no matter how good you think they'll taste.

And that's all I got to say about that......:joy:joy:joy:joy:joy

I though someone was saying Brothers sculpt is too small to fit the neck properly without needing the scarf to hide it?

i've deleted my comments since most people felt it's too much. hopefully the guy hasn't read it yet and hope he doesn't make any changes or throw it in the bin if he read it.

anyway does the color comes off the paracords if we paint it with diluted acrylic paint or will they stay, or do we need to top coat it?

No it's actually a hair bigger then the VTS Sculpt. If so remove the scarf there isn't an issue other then the neck from the body I'm using doesn't have the paint apps the head does so the scarf hides that nicely. I also don't find it puffy. I do think the eyes are painted too big. Which kinda gives him a Doe Eyed look, other then that I love it. I think it's an amazing likeness. BTW I did this as an article for Go Figure News where I'm a contributor.

just wondering what body you used or did you use back the AF with neck adaptor? that might explain why you felt it's wide enough. another guy used the ZC muscle body and the neck was too narrow to fit the rubber neck.
