well i finally got around to finishing this conan. although i still am going to do a custom stand and may tweak him a bit more, i started this a long time ago and could never really get going with it.........anyway......

body - wwf wrestler jaxx series??? - i know there arent a lot of fans of this body & may switch out later with a hot toys dutch body if i can ever run across one at a reasonable price.
head - storerooms arnie head added "real hair" (not a huge fan of this but i thought it would be ok with this one............first ever attempt at real hair.....big pain !!!!)
sword - letter opener sword with handmade leather sheath
dagger - hand made out of balsa wood and leather sheath
necklace, boots, loincloth,arm & headband all hand made (the more i look at the headband the more i think i need to repaint it.......)

i left his hair a bit longer than it was in the movie for this outfit because i thought it just looks better and to kind of somewhat hide the shoulder joints... it may be hard to tell from the pics (becuz im a shat photographer) but the body is more tan looking. i used pastel chalk and basically drybrushed it into the rubber to stain it. the chest area is a harder plastic and doesnt take it as well so you may notice the shading differences. but, i think he's okay for now until hot toys puts out a conan.........

Dude, that Conan is KILLER! I would stick with the Jakks body, it looks great as it is. The joints are hidden well and everything.

Damn man! THAT Is a great Conan figure, very well done bro. And you did much better on the hair than I did my first time. It's hard stuff to do. The costume you did is pretty damn perfect though, you NAILED it.

Its just the hair throwing it out slightly, as someone already posted I feel the hair needs greasing up and styling more, plus the hair that rises up above the headpiece is elongating his head, needs taking down 3 - 4 mm. To make it perfect, for me anyway, plus the nose piece on the head dress needs narrowing its making him cross eyed

But superb figure none the less

thanks everyone i do appreciate it. and i do agree with the hair needing to be a lil' greasy looking. i actually used my wifes hair gel but i guess it dried out (must be water based or something) not sure what would be best to use but i will look into it. and mooncat i also agree with the headpiece flap being a bit wide. probably narrow it down when i tweak him a bit.
yea, the hands are quite crappy as well. the original jakks hands were not all that great either and i tried to heat the open handed one and pretty much ruined it. not sure of any hand sets that are large enough to fit, as they are pretty big pegs that go up into the arm. if any one has an idea for better hands let me know.

I agree you need to trim down the piece between his eyes, and I'm not digging the multi-colored stones on his headband.

yea, the disco headband is what i was talking about repainting . all my ref pics show a dull colored stone. i will address that as well.

How did you manage to paint the body? I tried to do it on mine, but it wouldn't take any paint very good...
