When I was sick when I was younger, I remember my dad buying me the original transport....although that one meant more to me..this one is wayyyyyy cooler.. lol

well i'm at the portion of this project i've been dreading the most...........the cab interior.......:horror
im really trying to do this right and these next pics are a very rough start & i can tell some things will need to change. but i digress.............

cb1.jpg

the center intake will have screen added & another set of silver trim in front of that.

cb2.jpg

the back rest needs to be widened & cut more angular upwards to follow the line of the cab

cb3.jpg

the center console is a very rough wip.......but this is also before sanding. it will have a texture on the sides with a bunch of gizmos on top added at a later time

cb6.jpg

back rest & flooring will hopefully have a cool covering if i can find something to match the original toy.

i know the armrests needs to be cut down a tad. the hard part to figure out is that there is another post at the front with some funky angles.........:panic:

i also want to make all this so it can be slid in & then & fastened. obviously for painting purposes.

and i blame my ulcers & hair loss on you mark.............ALL ON YOU.............you set the bench mark so high around here that i just had to jump in to keep up.............:wink1:

When should we commission barryo for 20 more of these. Now or when he's finished? :lol

Seriously, though. This thing is bad ass! :rock

does the health insurance cover the cost for the nurse??:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

Guys, be careful what you wish for. You know we don't all wear little white dresses and show cleavage, right?? :wave Well, for the right price I might.

On to the transport. That looks great! So far its just like I remember it, only bigger. Are you going to add sound? You could probably get a old one one ebay and cannibalize the sound.

Mate I honestly think you'll pull this off without any problems what so ever, YOU CAN DO IT....

Ron
thanks ron, i guess i'll keep going............:wink1:
CHUFFIN GRAND!!!
thanks i think...............(runs off to look up what chuffin' means)

im hoping to add sound but the original one has a spinning motorized record player type device. i hope to get a more quality sound. just haven't worked all that out yet.
One of my favorite toys as a kid. Seems like I got a new one every few years. But in 1/6 scale? Sweet.
damn you were a lucky kid. i only had the one.
thanks for the words & from everyone.

next update will be chock full of progress !!.................:panic:

what about a "in your pocket type thing"
you know the talking keyrings with several phrases?

do you guys have them? they're nice and cheap as well

a little more progress i did over the weekend............
got the cab seats & console done. made it modular so i can fit it inside & take out as needed. used some artistic license on this and the levers next to the door really work (well as far as movement anyway) they are spring loaded controls off of a mini helicopter remote.
