I could care less if you disagree with me..this is my rant and my thoughts on this.
Yes.
And a very impassioned one at that. Not so much my style of approaching a figure, I try to keep objective and avoid some of the invectives used in this forum, like "greatest", "worst", "trash", "idiot", "apologist", "*****-baby" ( ), and so on. You tend to lose some of your audience when you use those words.
I can see some of your points and understand the frustration. This character, along with Vader, probably generate more impassioned feelings from fans than any other characters in SW (okay, maybe Chewie as well). But if the cumberbund is a different shade, that's not a deal breaker for me. The biggest bummer is the vest, but I am still convinced it can be corrected or adjusted to my liking.
As for the SSC hate, I do NOT get it. Increasing prices? It's happening across the board, folks. Hot toys is zooming up in price, as is Medicom (which is truly a puzzler for me), so much so that we are getting in excess of $200 for super basic figures like Amazing Spiderman, Rescue Cap (must-have purchase for me, at any rate), 4-LOM (really Medicom? Is there such a huge fanbase for this guy??) and R5-D4, and so forth. QC issues? There was a thread devoted to problems with HT figs in 2011, including BB Bats, Captain America, Supes, Indy, and more. Likeness issues? Pop into just about any thread in this forum and there are people photoshopping, highlighting, superimposing screen shots with proto pics, etc. etc. It's a little surreal. I thought TDKR Bats looked awesome, then people started in on the armor's ribs, straps, collar, cowl, eyes, and on and on.
Don't get me wrong; the increase in price infuriates me, and I am having a harder and harder time justifying this hobby with each passing month. I've already scaled back on purchases that I would have taken the plunge on in years past, and that trend will only get worse as price tags increase well above the rate of inflation. But Boba...
will be mine.
