Having looked at the photos everyone's been posting, I'm torn over whether or not to cancel my order. I can live with the boxy vest if it an be futzed but my biggest gripes are 1) colour 2) legs.

Boba in these photos look pretty damn good. I can really see the weathering and subtle shading on the fatigues and the chest armour. The boxy vest doesn't look too bad at this angle and pose either.

This other photo on the other hand is pretty unflattering. Boba's armour looks a terrible and sickly green. Could it just be the lighting?

Some shots of Boba make the legs look awkward, while other shots look decent enough.

Agreed. Look at any reference Empire Boba shot and this color is just wrong.
Here's a quick photoshop to fix color...

Also, ask yourself if this is ok with you. I don't care what figure is better,(i personally think the medi looks best) this is what pisses me off most!(proto looked heavenly) And i've had enough of it. (If i can get it for cheap i may)

Is that really the color on the medicom fett? If so, that solidifies my feelings that the sideshow version is overall better in appearance. I do agree the proto is the best of theses three, but given what we are getting i like the sideshow better, especially after the vest has been futz with.

Tucking it in the belt makes it look better (and no you shouldnt have to ) but after some time, it may shape permanantly so it wont be necessary forever....

Well, that's the ROTJ version of the Medicom figure, right? I remember reading he was a darker shade of green in that movie.

As far as the new pictures that have been posted are concerned, he looks pretty awesome to me. I'm looking forward to getting my shipping notice from Alter Ego.

just noticed that some of the dents on the armours are actually moulded in. i am liking this figure more by the minute. the green on the helmet seems a little bit dark than the rest of the armour, is this correct?

@Vonhahn:
Why are you comparing color schemes of the RotJ version to the ESB version, and coming to the conclusion the SS Fett is better?
:slap

The Medicom RotJ Fett is closer to it's cinematic counterpart than the SS ESB is on the basis of color matching alone.

I remain wholly unconvinced. Even the best shots frustrate me.

Must remain confident my superior futzing skills will save Boba from mediocrity and sucktitude.

Ugh, that second photo - AGAIN. Vest aside, you can see some obvious futzing/lighting differences between the proto pic and the production pic that make the second one look bad. The lighting of the proto is subdued and subtle, whereas the the second pic has really bright, harsh light that skews color values. Pics of the production piece that have subdued lighting are much closer to the proto in appearance. The knee pads are riding too low in the second pic, you can easily see the difference between the pictures. The material for the pants on the proto has been pulled up higher above the ankle straps, and then brought back down over the straps to conceal them, hence the better, baggier appearance. The belts are overlapping on the second pic, whereas they are spaced out evenly on the proto, the second belt riding lower on the codpiece. In fact, during SDCC 2011, I remember someone asking Silentsurfer if Boba had the "dong dent" :)lol ), because the belt was covering it up. The most noticeable difference between the two that is truly a production issue is the vest. No easy fix for that one, it seems, but I plan on posing my Boba holding gun across torso the way he does in the film, so that doesn't seem like a deal breaker for me.

Your mileage may vary.

The color schemes between esb and roj were not THAT dramatic. For my taste personally even the roj medicom is too olive green. I know thats just for my personal taste. That dosent mean its wrong. :)

I used to have an electric bass with a cherry red paint job. I brought it into a school gym one day and the red was orange.

That story sucked. Full of plot holes and it went nowhere.

Just like Prometheus.

:mad:

what?????..............:panic::panic:

best story ever..........the sad story of a young kid with dreams of making it big as a rock star only to have those dreams dashed when he finds out he's been colorblind this whole time...........:monkey2

How 'bout you go futz yourself, you futzing futz.

I left room for prequels and sequels. Don't want to lock myself into anything. I am an artist. I must be able to create freely...

No, really. I was just showing how made up stories like mine can be used to justify Boba Fett's lime green armor.

At least someone understands my vision...or lack thereof...:rock

Dont get me started on the color schemes...( and I really dont care who thinks I am bashing or raining on anyone's parade) but SSC has really shown their true colors or the direction this company is headed..Skyrocketing prices and plummeting quality or care. If the proto looked even slightly similar I would have no issues..but this is like showing a Ferrari and sending someone a Fiero after most people have paid. Now I know you can return this, but people get their hopes up and its such a downer to have to return something like this. I have three issues which all back up the quality issues I am noticing more and more:

1. The helmet color is so off..the proto was perfect..its a numbered paint..use it..why would they deviate? What is the excuse for this? I would love to know

2. The obvious chest..it makes him look like there is a pregnant, big chested woman under there. The armor needs to be sewn completely on the edges and the vest tight...this was done poorly.

3. The cumber bun. I havent heard anyone post this, but the ESB version is brown..as the ROTJ is red...the proto had the correct brown as the in hand pics show a red one. This one probably doesnt bother many people but pisses me off the most because it demonstrates the lack of care or attention the most to me. This is something so easy and they had it right but somewhere along the line someone decided.."hey I am going to totally change this and have no basis for it"

These could come down to where they have them painted and I know they are cutting corners on cost for this..some of the paintwork that has been coming out lately has been laughable. You would think the prices would be lowered when they spend less but its bizarro world at sideshow. I could care less if you disagree with me..this is my rant and my thoughts on this. I have ordered every OT figure that has come out in the past 5 years and lately they are leaving a bad taste in my mouth with some of these stunts..I have yet to order Bossk which I never thought would happen (and I can get him at 20% off) He looks great..but its a proto..and I will not be pre ordering anything from now on before I see some in hand pics..if at all.

You must do what you feel is right, of course.
