FIRST POST of his thread!!!

Modded a Marmit helmet, switched out the range finder, repositioned the shoulder armor, added a gun strap (as seen in ESB)and made up some thinner wookie scalps. Still haven't done paint touch-ups yet.

How long has it been since SS's ANH Vader? Because we still haven't seen an ESB or ROTJ version of him. That seems crazy to me, anyone else?

I don't mind it too much...people just like to show off their customs....just as long as they tell us what parts were used....putting on a SS stand is a little confusing though....I reckon it will take SS a while to make a ROTJ Fett but it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't. I think the reason that haven't made another Vader is because of the scale. It really just didn't match up with other figures.

Discussion of Fett figures by other companies or customizers is relevant in so much as it relates to the accuracy or otherwise of Sideshow's version. That said I know how much it seems to upset people like Evilface, which is why I said I would mention it once, and once only.

Unless Sideshow improve the general appearance of their version before its release however, there will no doubt be a lot of customization discussion in here which will involve (whisper it) other companies. You'll just have to get used to it I'm afraid!

As far as I'm concerned it's all good clean fun anyway.

Incidentally, I was re-reading the excellent Making of book, and found this image:

I imagine most customizers have seen this, but it's the original paint guide given out by Lucasfilm for merchandising purposes. This presumably means anyone can match the exact paint job!

I'm just saying, if there's stuff wrong with the Sideshow figure that can be discussed in relation to other versions, or to the film, then that's totally natural and on topic. Same as how the Vader thread is full of people talking abou the Hasbro dome mod.

And I'm just saying that the Vader dome whining was as welcome there as this is here, but atleast the figure was shipped when all that went down. The figure hasn't even been solicited and we're already enduring OCD comparable to a Hot Toys Joker thread.

That sucks.
