To be clear on the helmet, it is the same mold. Mine is very slightly wider at base if I line them up but that could be just mine. The paint apps do make it look like it is different shaped but it's probably an optical illusion. The suit looks more blue in photos than in person. It is definitely more grey blue than blue grey. Looks like the on screen color to me and not nearly as blue as the pre production photo. I will say the jumpsuit is a better material. It's all preference if you prefer a grey suit or not. I prefer my ESB Fett to have a bluish color

Thx for the pictures Dave. I like the comparison shots off the left shoulder in particular, really shows the improved vest fit.

I bought the rocket back pack and gave it to my medi mix as I still like the colors of the medicom boba fett better then the side show even the medi helmet I think looks better.

It's been said a gazillion times - it's too small though. It works displayed away from other figs, but even on a taller body, the size of most (though interestingly, not all - eg. gauntlets) of the parts is too small.

I think it looks good I put him on the dx07 luke body I had an extra one laying around. all I used was the helmet and chest armor and the rest is all sideshow

Dave J, your photos persuaded me to hit up toy anxiety and buy some bits to upgrade my boba, thanks! (I think!)

Got the Jumpsuit, neck sleeve, cod piece and chest armor.

Gutted I missed out on one of the upgraded jetpacks, thats the part I was really hoping for. Oh well will keep an eye for future part outs :)

Hi all,

So I got my first batch of bits from toy anxiety last week. I'm waiting on a few more upgrade parts from the hot toys ROTJ Fett that are shared (pretty much) between ESB and ROTJ. Shoes, will post pics of the my finished ESB Fett when its done.

Basically this is a comparison of old vs new parts for anyone interested. Overall new parts are better looking and quality feels better. I got the main chest piece, lower armour, jumpsuit and neck. Only thing that is worse (miles worse!) is the wookie braids, they are super curly / shiny synthetic fabric instead of the cotton ones from the V1. I'm in the process of sewing the old braids on the new flack jacket :)

Left new jumpsuit, right old. New jumpsuit is also longer in both the arms and the legs which REALLY helps if you have rebodied the figure onto a true type. looks way better. Sort of miss the weathering a bit though. Shin pockets are also smaller.

Left new, right old. New one feels much better and looks more accurate. also fits the figure WAY better as its a lot more fitted. old one was super baggy.

Left old, right new (sorry!)

Left new, right old. new ones really suck. They are really stiff and super curled.

For the Fett experts out there, can you tell me if the color of the ESB helmet as shown in the recent Costume book is accurate to what it should be? I'm in the middle of repainting my Sideshow Fett and have been having trouble finding a good reference for the color.

It appears to be a good match for the movie, but is also far lighter than either the Sideshow or HT Fetts so I was just wondering if it had faded a lot with time or something (and in the book it's also got a slightly more blueish hue to it than in the scanned pic below).

Thanks for the pics, joeyrainbow! Excellent side-by-sides. I see what you mean about the new braids. The old ones look like fabric but that curly thing on the new ones is a bummer.

That's a very, very complicated question. One of the issues is that cameras have a hard time precisely replicating greens, so Fett's colors are all over the place even in good ref pics. Go to the dented helmet site - there's info there, plus even some suggestions for Humbrol model colors.

Thanks. And yeah I've checked that site and others but the suggested green still seems a bit dark and overly green compared to what I see in the movie.

The shots of him in the red hallway appears to be the best match for the helmet in the book (albeit a bit darker), but who knows if that's what the real color actually was. Or what kind of filter the movie put over it.

Looks pretty good to me. Here is an amazing site on all things FETT

Here is a good pic of the costume as seen in the movie.

It's a very difficult thing to get right, and even Fett-ologists over there butt heads over it.:lol

I'm about to paint up my custom build ESB 1/6 Fett (hand-made armor pieces :slap) - as soon as I'm done with my Marmit ROTJ conversion. I'll try to post pics. I have the Humbrol paints TDH suggests (it's a blend of two colors) but those are not acrylics so harder to use on 1/6 stuff, better for hard plastic models, requiring lacquer primer.:gah:
