I can see several areas of improvement needed for this:

1. Replace the Pro with a TT Slim
2. Dye the vest with Rit Dye Tan
3. Replace the oversized buttons on the vest with smaller ones or even velcro
4. Replace the rubber boots with modded Hot Toys Bespin Boots
5. Replace the muted arm patch with a more vibrant decal
6. Replace the gloves
7. Replace the fragile plastic antennae with metal wire
8. Replace the headsculpt under the hat with the Hot Toys head
9. Replace the lightsaber hilt and blaster with Hot Toys versions
10. Replace the scarf with different/longer fabric

Don't forget weathering & snow. I gave HT head a little cold repaint as well. :lol

I'm actually very surprised how much I like this figure. I agree about certain complaints but overall I look at him and I am happy with what I see. SS did good on this one. I am not crazy about the exclusive BD head like others have mentioned but I am impressed overall. I really like the one pic where you see this non helmet head on the HT Bespin Luke. I never in a million years would have thought or considered swapping it with the HT head but I have to say, I may do it.

I was pretty much going to type the exact same thing word for word. This is a very impressive figure in-hand. And I was more than prepared to be hard on this.

I did put the non-hatted head next to my HT Luke Bespin and liked it. Will try that in the next few days.

The three quibbles I would have are that I agree the flesh tone is a slight shade too dark, and yes, the BD head just didn't quite come out right (I may blood and snow him up a bit to fix it - fortunately that's how he should be) and the vest will need to be dyed tan.

By the way, the scarf on the hatted head is not glued (just slightly stuck by being against the plastic) and can be retied to hang longer like onscreen.

And long gone are the days of oversized SSC heads - these are exactly the same size as HT heads.

Agreed and extending the scarf was the first thing I did when I took him out of the box. :wink1:

and you are certainly breaking Dave's new conduct rules.

Please read those rules yourself Rory, because it appears you have not. The content of my post is expressly covered in Dave's initial words on the subject, and the post was also in direct response to kl241's post immediately preceding it.

Stay classy.

Loving all the new Hoth photos, keep them coming.

Has Sideshow finally started shipping product in accordance with invoice/payment date? I know folks have complained about this in the past, but everything seems quiet and peaceful in that respect this time around and speaking for my own order, I haven't heard a peep from Sideshow - it was placed and paid in full on March 10th for Han.

I like the regular Hoth head and want to exchange it for the Sidedhow Bespin Luke. But for me to do that I will have to but the body as well. The problem with that is that the hoth Luke body does not come with the hands of feet. Any suggestions?

Yep, Hoth Han on Tuesday and the HT Stormies are arriving today :panic: After just getting Luke on Tuesday and Star-Lord earlier in the month it's been a pricey 30 days :lol

I think Luke is one of the more solid releases from Sideshow, I'm seriously confounded by the choice of body, but aside from that the rest of him is better than feared and actually meets my expectations. Still wish they eyes were a smidge smaller and the lightsaber blade was like the old ones, but I can always do a bit of swapping around with my Sideshow Bespin Luke if needed on that one.

Do you mean "buy" when you wrote "but?" If so, then grab an alternate body instead, like a Kumik slim. It's not as slim as the HT, but according to other posts here, that sounds like it may be a good thing. It comes with hands, though they aren't stellar. Otherwise you can find all sorts of hands at Toy Anxiety among other shops that part figures out.

If the Sideshow Han really is on a 1.0 that will make swapping easy for those of us that bought both :lol

Just thinking of how this may have gone down - just speculation, one of many possible scenarios.

If the figures Sideshow have been shipping out lately were indeed stuck on a ship for months, they may be part of the earliest production run. So let's say Sideshow started with the 1.1 body to produce a 12" figure as the specs on their site say. They chug along, make a lot of figures and toss them into a shipping container bound for the US. Now at some point they decide to switch to the 1.0 so Luke is better scaled. These figures don't make it into the first containers but do make it out to retailers in Hong Kong.

However, if something like that happened, it still doesn't make any sense why Han would ever be on a 1.0. ;)

Sounds reasonable.

Exactly!:lol

Thanks Pixel. With that Kumik slim I assume the sideshow head will fit perfectly.

I wouldn't completely count on a perfect fit... the Sideshow heads are a little bit different in how far the neck pushes into the head. I've noticed with the un-helmeted Luke and Snake that a standard sized neck plug (the long ones) were an odd fit. So there may be some issue with the Kumik, but nothing a bit of dremmeling couldn't take care of.

How can I tell what body my Luke is on? If I receive Han and he is taller, does that mean I have a Luke on the correct body?

Take a look at this:

That is so odd... my Luke is on the body on the left; the 1.1. Although it might have the 1.2 Forearms; it's a little hard to tell.

It's actually good for Luke, but not for Han. The initially pros were all very loose, but I've had a few of the later 1.0 bodies that were well made and work for shorter figures.

Can't wait to find out what body they put Han on. :lol

Luke was on the 1.1, but the 1.2 doesn't look much taller:

The extra height appears to come from the giraffe neck.

But it does have more bulk in the arms and shoulders.

Here's Luke's body on the left, a 1.0 Pro in the middle (Maybe Beloq's?) and the DX07 body on the right.

Compared to Sideshow's picture Luke's body looks like a 1.1, but with maybe the neck and forearms of a 1.2. I'll need to check that when I get home to see if I can tell the difference.
