I actually think for the amount of work and realism we are getting here the price is justified!

Lets face it 3d printing is in its infancy and is going to be so very costly to create the heads in the first place

Then you have the man hours and godness knows how long it will take to get the head to Bobbys level

I just think its like anything in life, you want the very best you have to pay for it

I refer you to my previous post. :)

It really comes down to how big of a fan you are. He is my favourite ever character to be put on screen and this sculpt will be nothing short of perfect. Nothing was going to stop me acquiring one.

Are they hiring wherever it is that you guys work at? Or did you inherit a huge fortune from a dead, rich uncle?

j/k:D

Yeah that small head looks PERFECT. Once it's got the bulging hair, that'll be absolutely spot on in size, and it already looks a teeny bit bigger (maybe just longer?) than the HT heads which are indeed a teeny bit too small. Another vote here for the smallest one. Damn I can't wait to see more, keep the good stuff coming mate :D
All part of the hobby and being a Joker/Heath Joker fan imho. When you are paying near on 300US for some off the shelf figures with alot of the time, notably big flaws, for the custom work and handbuilt craftsmanship of this, I think it's a bargain this one. Just think how much REAL custom 1/6 figure work is. I've seen Marylin and Twilight and all those crazy custom figures go for prices like 3000! And yes, 1/6th!

It basically comes down to how badly you want the best of the best.

If you are a big enough Joker fan and are willing to sacrifice some figures, (be it sales, or upcoming ones you would have to pass on), it's not really a case of 'out of my league'.

thats a rediculous comment. Just because you can/are willing to pay a large sum of money doesnt make you a bigger fan of mr J.

I just cant afford it, its just that simple.

I agree with ec. Buying a 1/6 scale head, watching the movie 100 times, memorizing the Joker lines, etc. doesn't make you a bigger fan than the rest of the world.:cuckoo:

It better come in a fancy box, certificate of authenticity and 1 of xxx printed on the certificate for how many is getting made then. ;)

to be honest i dont need a box or certificate, i would rather just have a perfect head which i know Bobby will deliver, i just dont want him thinking he needs to be pressured into coming up with a fancy box etc

obsession I call it. and unhealthy lol.

Jealousy I call it. And unhealthy lol. :D

We all spend far too much on this hobby and are all unhealthy mentally because of it. As I have already said, in terms of this hobby, if you are a big enough fan and it means enough to you, you will find a way.

It is not a ridiculous comment if you are in this hobby. I was not stating I am a bigger fan so do not put words in my mouth please.

If you purchase 1/6 figures on a routine basis and have love for this character, you would easily find a way by forgoing those figs.

ANYWAY, enough already. Can't wait or more updates Bobby!

i don't think snake's saying he's a bigger joker fan than the rest of us. but having seen and followed his collection from the beginning, i think his collection has focused around DC, batman and in particular, the J-man for a long time. i sometimes have nightmares we're in an "alive" style situation, where i have the last mint joker figure, and he throws me off a mountain for it. that's why i'll never take a flight with him! separate planes for sure.

while i might be able to afford this, i wouldn't be able to justify to myself spending that much on 1 head. maybe it's worth it, maybe it's not, but sometimes that doesn't matter. i have a hard time sometimes thinking i spent $150 on a figure let alone $650 for that one rainman one. sadly, the collectible world has gone beyond the kind of justification you can make for commodities. i think for all of us it's about obssession and craziness, just to different degrees. i guess it depends on how much you want each thing thesedays. if those guys that see the price and think "hmm, reasonable, i want and need it", all power to 'em.

Sadly I am in the same boat. I am not willing to sell of a bunch of what I have. And while I could take the money out of savings, to me that is not responsible use of savings.

However I'm still super excited about this. I am glad there are those of you willing to pony up the dough because then I get to live vicariously through you! :yess:

One of the great things about these forums!!! :banana :banana :banana

i was just about to say the same thing :clap if there weren't people who wanted these heads, for whatever price, bobbyc might never have produced them. so while i'm not subscribing to this thread waiting on ordering info, i'm staying tuned for pics.

Does it really matter? OH GOD YOU'RE BUYING SOMETHING I CAN'T I HATE YOU HATE YOU HATE YOU JERKFACE!

Personally, I'd really enjoy having a copy of Detective Comics #27, but that's unrealistic. That doesn't mean I'm mad at those who are fortunate enough to own one.

Hi Guys, please remember all the sacrifice I have done by myself for these.
in the past I have been recasted over and over nothing worse in the art field.
as you can see I made 4 attempts to do the scan , I finally got it correct even better then hot toys I don't want to get in how much it cost but I wont break even guaranteed.
The big picture here is to show the companies If I can do this in my basement (yes my basement) why cant they do this for the wide range collectors?
again I don't think this to be a toy this will be a piece of art , it will look like a miniature person when completed it will stand out by the other hot toys figures.
there are so many new things I want as well , but I cant afford or I choose to get something else .
Thanks Guys

Super words Bobby

I think we just need to focus back on this as a piece and not whos getting it and whos not and whos jealous

on another note, this is my reeve going to be scanned tomorrow, hands and head. I want to see how far I can take the realism on small scale, maybe even a action figure size
for now, 1/6th and 1/3rd

Man if i knew how to dance a jig, I'd be dancing like crazy. This just makes me giddy with excitement.

They could, but they'd have to produce less items and take more time to generate it. Hot Toys stated in an interview that their sculptors work under pretty tight schedules to have products going within a certain time frame, probably why they give in and make revisions after enough's done to put the prototype out there.

People privately working on small runs and willing to dictate a schedule and not catering to the impatient demand of the masses will always have the luxury of doing something bigger and better.
