It is not a ridiculous comment if you are in this hobby. I was not stating I am a bigger fan so do not put words in my mouth please.

It really comes down to how big of a fan you are.

" you have done that yourself!"

Heh, I was gonna do that, but didn't have the energy. ;)

Honestly Bobby, even though I like your sculpt more, you cant say theBank Robber and DX jokers have a bad likeness, yours is obviously better, but they didnt do bad either IMO. :)

I think the one thing I hope you do better then Hot Toys is the hair, but it will be hard to do in 1/6th, and I've yet to see 1/6th hair look REAL.

Something tells me your about to see the first 1/6 figure then that has real hair

I am sure Bobby will strive for the same perfect look he has acheived on the 1/3 with the 1/6

Its the eyes i cant wait to see, if they look anywhere near as perfect as the ones on the 1/3 version then we are in for a treat, them eyes are scary real

They could, but they'd have to produce less items and take more time to generate it. Hot Toys stated in an interview that their sculptors work under pretty tight schedules to have products going within a certain time frame, probably why they give in and make revisions after enough's done to put the prototype out there.

People privately working on small runs and willing to dictate a schedule and not catering to the impatient demand of the masses will always have the luxury of doing something bigger and better.

I agree, MF.

Plus, the DC or Marvel etc have the final say on which sculpt they decide to use on. Just like in the case of the mark 3 BD, where they choose to give us that repainted mark 2 head, even though HT already have a better, superior head by kojun. Or the first MJ thriller head and that inferior smiling head case, where the MJ estate decides to go with the smiling ones.

That said, this looks unbelievably AWESOME! PMed mate :hi5:

talking to Bob about this he will have the 1/6 look identical to the 1/3. It will have real hair and not sculpted hair.

Look, this head will not be for everyone as I know the money he puts into each scan and print for the head. He is not kidding when he says he is going to have a hard time breaking even.

Also the DX and bank robber joker heads do not have a good likeness at all. The paint is what brings out the sculpt. When you remove the paint from a bank robber joker or dx headsculpt there are lines and creases that should not be there. Also the head is too short. The head should be a tad longer, which Bob's scans are. The people that will be getting any of his joker pieces are in for a treat as he is trying to set a new standard among collectables.

Are the eyes glass or is that just the sculpt itself painted?

It really looks like glass eyes. :google

Bad example Manji. Everything looks "realer" and better in a bigger scale. The hair on that 1/3 scale head looks good but it doesn't compare to the hair on the 1/1 scale head that BobbyC did. Same goes for fabrics and stuff for bigger scale items. No 1/6 scale buttons or zippers will look as good as 1/1 scale real buttons and zippers for example.

honestly, while I agree that paint makes or breaks a sculpt, I think its actually the paint on the BR that holds it back. When I look at J.C. Hongs personal Joker, I honestly see Ledger in there almost as much as BobbyC's.

Tell me this doesnt nearly perfectly resemble the look he gives the old man when he says " were not intimidated by thugs" apart from the inaccurate makeup drips he looks spot on like that moment! I would be very curious to see Bobby paint up a BR and add his awesome hair to it :)

Like I said, Bobbyhis work is definitely superior, but it seems silly to bash the Hot Toys sculpts we were praising and marveling at a year ago :p

Hey are you givin' BobbyC a hard time again? :tap

Ya i totally agree with you there dude ..bobby's 1/6 sculpt will be superior obviously, but to say hot toys likness look's bad is ridiculous:mad: ..and hot toys unlike bobby have to produce there sculpts on a much larger scale.

actually, I never find any of the HT sculpts (except for the cop joker) to bear likeness of heath.

Only joker that has captured that would be adam lmrsrd1's sculpt he did for papito and blakus.

seems like this one that Bobby's bout to make would raise the bar yet again :clap

I just saw some of bobby's previous work :drool

I have faith that hes gonna knock this one out of the ball park :rock

Looks like Im gonna be putting a hold on a few of the other custom project (might be even heels1999 :monkey1) so that I can concentrate on this masterpiece :clap

by no means should hot toys ever be compared to Bob's sculpt. also I have seen the 1/1 and 1/3 scale jokers in person and they look identical. The hair is the perfect thickness for the 1/3 scale and is absolutely perfect, so to say they do not look as good is not correct. I do understand that everyone has their own opinions but believe me Bob is setting out for perfection and when held next to each other they look exactly the same, but to each his own.

I reckon the HT sculpts are nice for factory efforts, but truth be told, a factory mass produced head will just never, ever match a completely custom job in both sculpt and paint quality. OR, it could, but would be way too expensive to entice people to buy, unless they were a huge fan. For eg, people may like Joker for example, but would also pick up a Terminator Arnie fig, even if they're not a big fan, because the figure may be quite nice. And both would only be say, 270 each. It 'allows' people to have a varied collection. Whereas say, if they were all custom quality from factory, it'd only allow people to buy the Joker figure they really liked for say, 2500 but they wouldn't be able to afford to shell out that again and again for other figures that were just 'nice', and that they weren't too big a fan of. HT are about making money across the board, I very much believe they have the skillset to do some wild custom style figures, but it just isn't in their best interest, as much as it may be for ours.
Anyhoo, this thread after all is about Bob's masterpiece, which I'm itching to see more of asap :D
