Incidently, for anyone who cares, I finally got Leia's dress OFF! But don't do it. It's stitched around the waist so you have to really work it and there's great risk of tearing the material So be advised. Anyway, I'm working on getting wrinkles into the dress. I'll post pics later to show you what I've done.

OK, here's what I got. The dress is still drying from water treatment. But I did manage to get some wrinkles into the dress. There's enough material for a little bit. I think it helps, but you tell me...

Thanks for the pics, Maulfan but I still think there's something wrong with the sculpt. Shouldn't her face be a tad wider for ANH? I'm also not particularly a fan of her expression.

And perhaps she should have larger... errr... assets?

Ya know how annoying seeing all these pictures are? I likely won't see my Leia until December 23 or 24 and you guys are not making the wait any easier. :lol Ah well at least I know I got a good Leia waiting for me and apparently some awesome Transformer stuff for Christmas.

But by the time you get her, we will have all worked out the best pose and how to futz the dress and all that so you can have a tip-top Leia without having to sweat it out... like me. Ugh! Trying to get this dress into a style that resembles the character is a hassle. I'm not even sure if my laborious efforts are working that well on this little girl.

Great job WG! Better, much better but I don't think much can save this cheap ass dress. They didn't even take enough care to make a hood that works correctly. Maybe someone like sueworld or a tailor/customizer can make a new dress, one she deserves.

Such a shame, really. We know SSC can do it right, they did with Maul, material, cut, everything on that figure was amazing.

Again, a good 35-40 figure, but the dress is a step back, way back.

Honestly Wor-Gar, I think she looked pretty good outta the box. Yea, the folds would look good but not even the revered PF had a completely accurate dress and it looked good. What I think would have helped the dress tremendously would have been wires in the seams of the dress itself.

Looks real good, Wor-Gar.

And Sean...as usual, your pics are excellent.

Excatly right. And that's my final attempt to get this thing right. I'm just waiting for the dress to dry, then I'm gonna run wires into the seams and see if that will finally deliver the look I want.. the look this figure should have had. If it works, the major issue I have with this figure will at least be fixable.

Oh, and thanks Jedibear! I'm trying everything I know, then I'll post an easy recipe that avoids all the mistakes I went thru.

As long as the seam is open and has enough room the wire should work fairly well. SHOULD being the key word there. Either way I'm curious to see what you come up with. Mine, personally, as long as the dress isn't too wrinkled I won't be that chuffed. And should I choose to display her with the hood up I'll probably use a bit of Top Stick it keep it down.

That's a big part of it. Mine wasn't too bad. Others I've seen have some at bad angles. It's really luck of the draw. The material holds wrinkles all too well. Water treatment WON'T get them out. The material is some lousy synthetic stuff that won't take to water and holds all wrinkles and folds. That's the reason I had to get that dress off -- to iron the wrinkles out and the folds in.

But I think the wire may work just as well as ironing without having to strip Leia down. Ironing this material is a bi-yatch and I wouldn't recommend it.

Ultimately what I did was stitch the folds in the already-stitched area hidden by the belt. That works great and is really easy.

That's impressive, and if your pictures are any indication it should work great. But I hate the fact that it's necessary for the customer to do something like that. If it's as easy as you say, it should have been done in production.

Leia arrived yesterday, she's AWESOME!!!
Seriously guys, after reading some of the negative comments I thought this was going to be another Han Solo, but I got to tell you, Sideshow has really improved their quality with Bespin Luke and ANH Leia.
They're some of the best releases so far!! :chew:chew
Imagine how Old Ben will look!!!
BTW Maul fan, your pics as usual are incredible and really capture the quality of the figures.

Your efforts are working great Wor-Gar. That futzed dress looks 100XBETTTER to me.:clap

I'm now interested in getting her again because of Wor-Gar and MaulFans pics...but not at full price.:monkey5

Mine arrives on Wednesday and what I have seen so far, I'm a bit excited to pose her now!

Great pics, Maulfan! :rock
