I might be flayed alive for saying this but I'm not so happy with the announcement. From reading posts I’m obviously in the minority. I like everyone was anxious for the first armoured figure and finally to get something only to be hit with one I’m not interested in is always going to be a let down.

Don't get me wrong I think he looks great and it's nice to see SS finally produce an armoured character. As alway SS had hit us from left field. I didn’t expect him.

As a rule of thumb I try to stick with just movie and stay way from EU etc....

I dunno what to do now! Part of me wants to order him since he looks so good and since he is the first official armoured figure, but the other half just think he wont fit in with my collection. I just better make up my mind before he goes to order.

Either way it’s good to see most are pleased and he will go quick.

Look at it this way. SSC started with a figure that, if messed up, wouldn't be that big of a deal. Would you rather them start with a Stormtrooper or a Clone and maybe mess it up? Hells no!

Order it and cancel if you change your mind down the road. It's better than regretting it down the line.

Hot Toys and Medicom. If Sideshow can release this figure for cheaper than HT or Medi would, that's a big success for them.

But HT don't do SW figures, so there's no competition there.
As for Medicom, sure, their SW line will probably take a big hit, but from what I've seen of their product, it is a small line compared to their Japanese Superheroes lines. Who knows how much it affects them in the grand scheme of things?

Whatever may be the case, it's all good for us, through competition we get better products and (hopefully) prices, too.

Whether they had one before or after, I think eventually we might see a Newt for Aliens, at least I hope so!

That'd be nice. I don't hold out much hope with how this body'll be used. I had dreams of seeing a young John Connor in Sideshow's T2 line, but that line has been quiet for so long, I don't see it coming.

Well DAMN! I never saw this one as thir first forray into Armor. Got to do something with my custom now, Nut sure what.......
Guess I'll make Obi's head more grea, get the ben kenobi Robes, and make an Exile Ben. Take the armor and make a regular clone trooper. Back on topic
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Favorite PT era version of my Favorite (good) Character! MUST GET EXCLUSIVE VERSION! WILL EAT ANY WHO GET IN MY WAY!

Oh yes. I called it too didn't I, heh?

New body, and Armor Unveild at toyfare! lol.

Here is hoping that the new body is used on EVERYTHING and not just on the armored star wars characters ( Use it on gandalf too, Pwease? And Luke, and Han, And offer it like you fo the Buck So i can transplant all my old Sideshow figures to it)

Oh god, my wallet Just died of shock.

Well I don't think it's the notion of SSC's Star Wars directly competing with Medicom or HT like one Star Wars line to another, just in general, being able to produce figures of matching quality be it armor or clothes, and coming out with a smaller price tag. That's what I think some are driving at.

DAMMIT :monkey2

I'm getting 2 because of how great the sculpt is, but this mean innevitably an AOTC Obi-Wan is far off :monkey2

You know, considering that ATOC obi could be done REALY eaisly by just recycling the headsculpt, how much you want to bet it's gonna be the SDCC exclusive this year?

I don't think old figures will be easily transplanted because of the new double jointed neck.

It'll get buried in this thread, but this is a unique body, SSC developed one specifically for armored characters. There is another body for regulars as we can see in Indy pictures, and likely that one is used for Gandalf.

That's where I hope like HT, there will be multiple adapters.

Some characters, specifically older ones, or some alien creatures, will look best with sculpted necks.

If they have multiple neck adapters to suit needs, they could do another adapter to plug old heads onto the new body. You'd also need the wrist joints to be the same, and we don't know that yet either. Time will tell.

Doubtful. I think they would/should use this head over for an AOTC Obi-Wan figure, especially since it has LFL approval, but no way that significant a variant, especially a significant representation of a main character, would be an exclusive.

Im gonna bet the hand pegs are the same because the gloves on Indy look like the gloves on the Endor Troops.

Nice. Finally SS armored figures are a reality.

But when SS got the Star Wars license I never expected the price to increase in such a short amount of time to this level. I don't purchase collectibles if the price is ridiculous, no matter how nice they are. That's why I don't have any Medicoms.
