So, Dave, you must agree then, that it's pretty pointless Sideshow producing these "teaser" promos.....All they ever seem to get is negative comments...like Aragorn..and now Han.

I've been advocating for a while now for them to do the teasers like Frodo or Jedi Luke - just showing another part of the body until they can show all the shots.

I just meant, that I can't believe someone actually THINKS up stuff like that, to take it so seriously, all of this "how can Han be in space without exploding" etc. etc.....

Dude it's a MOVIE:D :D

It certainly is a movie. And it's a movie set in a self-contained world that still has to abide by the laws of physics, even though the power of its story comes from a strong mythological source. We're all fans here, which means we care for the little details, and are willing to go though loops just to fill any holes in credibility the filmmakers might have left.

I gave it a good shot, haven't I? And if I were making fantasy movies, I'd make damn sure to think it up at the same high level of plausibility. Anyone can make "just a movie", but for me, as a fan, the SW movies are anything but "just movies".

I see your point, so I hope you see mine. :)

So what law of physics does a lightsaber abide by? Light does not stop and light does not bend. Also is you strike light through light I'm pretty sure they wont make all these neat cracking noises :D

Suspension of Disbelief for our nice fantasy space opera series

lol.... Evidently, the same laws that allow someone to lift an X-Wing into the air by concentrating really hard....

Awesome Job, it looks just like him. Even better than the Mark Hammil, and that was dead on.

Of course I see your point Seretur.....I was just amazed at (as you say), the level of thought that went into your explanation....I never personally really cared or was bothered, to wonder why Han & Leia could survive inside the belly/mouth of that "space worm"......And it gave me a little chuckle to see someone so enthralled with and, so dedicated to the Star Wars universe.....trying to make fantasy....seem a little more like reality.....

YOU GO DUDE!!!:banana George would be proud!

Every single preview image has caused an overreaction that is INSTANTLY removed once people see all the pics. Every single time. There are not more people doing it this time, either. It's going to happen every.single.time.

ahem... *cough*

Errr...just out of interest i clicked on the Han Solo link in the text and it led me to the premium format version of Han.
So can someone(preferably from Sideshow) state categorically which this is-PF or 1/6:confused:

They've been known to get their links wrong. This is obviously the headsculpt for the 12" Han -- the PF Han has been out there for some time, so you can see this is not it. (And yes, this sculpt actually looks better to me.)

The physics of lightsabers (and repulsorlifts, and so on) have been around for at least two decades. And it's not like I even had to invent them -- the Space Slug interior is my own contribution, but people figured those other things out by themselves.

:joy :joy :joy :joy :joy

From what it says I believe it's the same sculpt, it's just unpainted. The link threw me off as well. I think they provided a link to the 1/4 scale premium format Han Solo since it's the only other figure of Han Solo they've made.

That DOES look really good. With a decent paintjob, it could be an excellent likeness.
I can't help feeling a bit kicked in the gut though - it's a much better likeness compared to the PF 1/4 scale Han head.

And as for the atmosphere inside the Space Slug -- remember, they were inside the Falcon's shield, which would've created enough air pressure for their bodies to comfortably survive (pressure being the #1 issue of survival in space, followed closely by temperature -- and the slug itself provided the heat in this case).

Can't wait for the preorder! :joy

Our heroes don't know they're in a slug when they slip on their O2 masks. They can't count on the heat of the slug, so the heat they're depending on must also come from the ship. I think you're right about the protection against the vaccuum of space coming from the ship somehow.

I know it was me that originally posted the question about how an airline oxygen mask could possibly protect our heroes but I must admit it was a comical ruse. (I developed it during the Jar Jar bashing after Phantom Menace to shut up fans of the orginal. Nothing shuts down a "Jar Jar ruined Star Wars" rant like attacking the military effectiveness of an AT-AT or the silliness of the air masks.)

I actually love that they just slip on air masks. It suggests that anything as important as life support would be figured out by Star Wars technology and reduced to something as easy to apply as a dust mask.

Caterpillars and Bags

If I’m not mistaken, the title is referring to the “bags” under the eyes and the large “catepillar” eyebrows found on the current scuplt of Han.

This must mean, in addition to fixing his eye color, they are fixing the eyebrows and the fleshy areas under his eyes.

“Yes, those too…”
