...but became iconic mostly due to a very articulated toy. Oh, the irony.

disagree. the film still ignited our imaginations. we never saw the toy until years later (and by then, many of us were too old to play with plastic lizards).

The dewback looks great but I want a dewback 1/6 figure not a 12" figure environment. SSC are getting too fond of polystone.
I hope this doesn't sell and they think about releasing 1/6 creature figures not environments.:lsvader

I am out. Passing as it is too much and I was hoping for it to be articulated or some thing more than just a statue. Isn't that what the PF line is for? Anyways it does look good but just not enough for me.

The only good thing about this price is the fact that SS made my decision between this and the Stormtrooper PF all that easier! Stormtrooper PF FTW!!! :yess:

I could not swing both when you add in the Predator LSB and the Tracker Maquette.

I had my plastic dewback toy some time before Empire Strikes Back came out. Not sure how many years later that would be? I loved that damn lizard. He was so happy. :)

I'm pretty surprised they made it a statue, although I think I'd prefer this to the Gentle Giant statue now (as I never got that and now it's more expensive than this + a sandtrooper would be). Still, I doubt I'll be getting this any time soon. Just not enough room for it. Like Yoda's hut, it's very cool, but not easy to display and somewhat limited in "play" value.

a salamander is technically an amphibian.

As I posted on Sideshow's website. I am heartbroken that there is no articulation. I can't play with this thing.

And my dilemma is now compounded by the fact that I can no longer be a completist in the line. I think it is time to re-evaluate my continuing to collect it. And this is not just a knee-jerk reaction. It started heading in this direction with the poorly articulated Gamorrean Guards. I was going to pick those up anyway...but this is nothing more than a 1:6 scale statue and I can't find any interest in that. It is too bad, to. Because I really like the "Deluxe" Sandtrooper...a great deal at 135.00 for all the troop-building options it comes with. I would have gotten all they allowed of those.

I may change my forum name to Cobra Cruel Trooper and turn all of my collecting attention to the GI Joe line. I am far too retentive to be able to enjoy collecting the line knowing that there is a piece I will not be aquiring. And despite the fact that I could change that attitude, I simply have no desire to do that.

I can't really understand that mindset. Are you going to sell off all of your figures because you can't be a completist? Why not just get the stuff that you actually like and not worry about having a "complete" collection?

I don't get why folks thought this would have articulation. People would be _____ing more about the seems than the price if they did.

Well for me the charm of the 1/6 line is the articulation. As I mentioned earlier if you like statues isn't that what the PF line is for and Gentle Giant too.

Do we know for a fact this is polystone? If so, that counts me out ... $300 for the Dewback plus another $300 to ship to New Zealand. :(

How much articulation could this have really? To me it looks good in the pose it's in. I'm not sure how much playing around with it I'd do to get it to look different.

i can't believe people are whining about the dewback not having articulation. :lol grown men no less....
