I think Lucas tried to reinvent the Dewback in a way that could be accomplished at the time with the SE's CGI.

Now LFL seems to be going back to the original source.

Perhaps in the 3D versions he'll give us the old school Dewback updated and a proper Jabba in ANH.

SS also said they're doing the old school Sy Snootles band as well, so there is some love for the original concepts more and more.

Never seen it. I'm not special. :lol

not even in theaters??? I remember when I was in High School and all of the OT was released in theaters as SE......The Jabba scene blew me away when I first saw it. It makes me wonder what in the world Harrison was actually talking to in 77 that GL cut it out of the original version. Would love to see the behind the scenes on that scene.

Nope. Missed all three. :monkey3

But I'm lying. I have seen them (not in the theater). Wish I hadn't.

Here's the original Jabba actor.

I met the guy who sculpted the dewback for Star Wars back when I was a kid in the 80's. He was a gentleman by the name of Fred Pearl and he had the dewback's head on the wall of his workshop. He also did the dinosaur models for the natural history museum in London. He was a lovely guy and was quite happy to take me for a tour of his workshop and talk about his time on Star Wars.

I'm definitely getting this though, no matter the cost.

MORE DETAILS!!!!! what was his workshop like? tell us the stories!!!

I don't really own much 1:6 Star Wars stuff, but I will own this. Any guesses on what both pieces may cost? I'm guessing $100-$150 for the trooper and $250 for the dewback?

The Sandtrooper and Dewback are seperate pieces, as long as the Dewback is under $300( should be more like $150-225) I'll get it.

The Sandtrooper aside from weathering doesn't look any different than
the Sargeant that came out in 2009. I just hope that its not specially made to fit the Dewback while the previous releases are not.

I want to say I doubt it since they are being sold seperately. If I can get both for $300 then I may do that. The Sandies sold for $110.00
each and the Dewback is probably around the same size as Jabba
so hopefully it will stay around $200.00 . I at least hope they offer a deal if you buy both.
