Honestly, if some self-righteous son of a _____ neighbor had the audacity to invade my privacy and lecture me about gun control, I would be more than happy to oblige with a sign like that. Then let him reap what he sows. The cold hard pain of a reality check often stings the pride of idiots.

So now we're getting somewhere. I just don't have the side of the story here that you do. Is that what happened?

If so, I might agree with you...depends if they were relentlessly bothering me, or just asked me to sign a petition once.

If it was just a casual conversation between neighbors and the guy simply said, "I don't believe in guns" would you go that hard core on him?

:lol See, that's just it. That sign (if real) wasn't cheap. I don't see something like that as being posted in arrogance from a friendly debate. I see it being more retaliatory, as if it was the result of getting soapboxed by some arrogant prick who felt his gun control advocacy makes him a better human than his neighbor. Enter the reality check. :lol

I didn't ask what the neighbor should do, Prog. "Reading is fundamental." It was what would YOU do. You didn't directly answer that until the quoted post, and I'm not certain that's even really a direct answer. :lol

When I speak about being the "neighbor" of course I am thinking about being me. I'm not sure how I could say, "if I was Nam I would do this, but me, I wouldn't".

So of course, no "I" Mr. ProgMatinee from Colorado would not go assist some lunatic who was going to blow his ass up because of criminal mischief. :lol

Is that sufficient?

Let me ask you. Lets say the guy was a law abiding citizen and for whatever reason you noticed his house on fire even though it was because he neglected to mow his lawn and that really pissed you off. Would you help?

I'd help him save his family, but I wouldn't help him save his house. There was a case similar to this not too long ago where a dude who lived outside the city limits refused to pay the extra fee for fire coverage. I wholly agreed with the fire department letting his house burn down. I also agreed with them coming out to put out the fire that transferred to the neighbor's house but driving off afterward and letting his house continue to burn. People need to be held accountable for their own actions and sometimes reeeeeeally dumb choices need to have steep consequences.

I would hope that you're right and it was only in retaliation, but without that knowledge, I'm just commenting on how the sign itself is pretty aggro way of getting the point across.

I will agree with this 100%. That said, this sign may have consequences, right? Such as progressing the poor relations these neighbors had? Who's right, who's wrong? I don't know, but as I said, it can't be a healthy neighborly relationship. So again going back to my original point, I don't see the "liberal" neighbor bending over backwards now to help a neighbor who just directed criminal traffic to his front door. :lol

Given he likely puked "liberal diarrhea" all over his neighbor, I doubt that help would be expected. :lol

Sad thing is, if that was the case, the gun control advocate could've had the best of both worlds had he kept his mouth shut. His neighbor could come in and save him like Lone Wolf McQuade, guns blazing, and in the end, he'd still not have to touch a firearm. Instead, he's left worrying more than ever now, that his fat mouth will have dire consequences. :lol

You guys are getting into a big discussion over a sign that is obviously (to me) a crappy photoshop job. :lol

To be honest...personally...I feel that if I had that sign in my front yard, and my neighbor was killed because of it, I would feel partly responsible.

:rotfl This gif will be stloen and used by me in the future... :rotfl

Alright I"m back. Had to deal with a crisis at work. I laughed for a good 5 minutes the first time I saw this gif.

~~I've seen different pictures of that sign across the internet, and I think it's funny every time I see it. I agree with 'Nam, if someone spends that kind of $$$ to have it made I'm going to guess that there's a history of finger pointing and judgements back and forth with their neighbors.

nothing like coming home to five pages about a stupid sign, that no one in this thread actually has in their yard :yess:
