All I could do was laugh. I mean I text a lot, but dear GOD. How does she get away with texting during school? Most schools that even allow cell phones require them to be shut off and put away during the day.

Its possible. I see it all the time. I've only texted in school once or twice...and only when it was imprortant. Other wise i'll leave the class and do that.

I think texting is getting completely out of hand honestly. It's sad like Jen said, when you text someone who's sitting right next to you.

That's insane. Not much of a texting fan myself. I get charged every time someone sends me one because I never text so I don't include it in the plan. I only use my cell phone as ... a phone.

I am 23 but I dont know where all of this texting crap came from when I graduated high school no one sent text messages. They are really just stupid to text someone something and have to keep going back and forth when you can call them and get an answer straight away.

Our youth are becoming more dumber by the day in this country because of these types of distractions during school.

Has anyone also noticed that while alot of these teens who have grown up with the internet being all fast access have no clue how to do anything else on a computer other than surfing the web. I had to show someone the other day how to save a ppt presentation.

Is that Sam mother ^^^^ing Jackson as a white guy?

Blackberry ^^^^^!! QWERTY keyboard FTW!!

I text cause I don't always have 2 hours to talk to someone.

That sure is the downside to calling and talking to people.... some people sure do know how to talk for way too long. That's partly the reason I never answer my phone. :lol

I know its possible to text in school but Im talking the sheer amount of texts this girl sent HAD to include time in school so how did she NOT get caught?

I can't imagine what schools are like these days. I graduated High School in 1989. The big thing in the day were beepers. Our school had banned them , because there theory was A. You didn't need them in class and B. If you had one, it was for no good. They were right, only two dudes had beepers in my High School and both were drug dealers!

Beepers. :lol

I know a person whose 13 year old daughter had over 10,000 texts in a month, so this doesn't surprise me all that much.

I hate talking on the phone! 98% of the conversation is pointless half the time, the relevant 2% can be stated in a simple line of text. I dont ever answer the phone, its text or nothing for me. Unless I am talking to my Mom who refuses to text :lol

Talking is so 20th century.

King and P!tu text each other about 14,000x a DAY.

No surprise here.

Yeah mother ****cker! :rock

Sounds like it. What's the name of this show?

That clip is form The Boondocks. It's on Cartoon Network as part of the Adult Swim line up. I haven't seen it for a while since I don't have cable right now, but I think this episode aired about 2-3 years ago. Jackson was on several episodes of the show voicing that character.

Why do people like to text anyway? I find it to be an arduous task. All those little buttons and such and it also bothers me to not type the full words with proper punctuation. The next generation has officially left me behind. :lol

Says the flipping dingbat (love you bro), who has over 10,000 messages on this forum.

But yeah, text messaging is weak. I lost an acquaintance through text messaging. She was text messaging her boyfriend while driving and was t-boned by a SUV going 60... she didn't have the right of way. She would be a live today if it weren't for the idea of having people text message on cellphones. More and more people are getting into accidents because of that, and now it's becoming illegal to drive while texting or even using a cell phone while your vehicle is in motion.

That's terrible, man - sorry to hear about that. There was a story/investigation on NPR the other day about teen texting/phoning while driving. One of the segments was about a high school girl doing the same thing and had an accident. Although she was a bit luckier and was only paralyzed from the waist down. Now she travels around to schools to give lectures on the dangers of texting/phoning while driving.
