Well, while I'm not for the choice to have her eyes posed, the application of the paint on Padme is great, very clean and quite life-like. The costume feels like very nice materials. The figure definitely exceeds my expectations from the even the production sample shots posted after the issues with the vinyl. Considering the source material, I think this figure was executed very well, will go great with Asajj, Obi-Wan, and hopefully some more CW inspired figures. The gloves do extend the arms, and certainly poseable hands would have been nice. Is it the best figure ever from SSC, no, but it's not that bad either. I'm actually more happy with how this figure turned out than ANH Leia.

So far, I'd rank the SW fems,

1) Leia Boushh
2) Asajj Ventress
3) Illum Padme
4) ANH Leia

I agree Sean. Its not that bad but it just misses the mark enough for me that when reviewing it I just couldn't get past a few things. The arms and expression made by the eyes. The rest of the figure is really quite nice. I think I'd switch Asajj and Boushh but other than that I'd agree.

I do really hope they recycle this head for future Padme's, it's just stunning how Natalie it is, another great job by Trev, and again, images don't highlight how great it is. I'm glad they didn't glue the hood down, both for poseability and for aesthetics, I remember how some of the high rest proto shots showed the glue on the hood and it's stink to get one where that happens. Thankfully, my eyes came out as they should, not like the mishap that was posted, I'm like Trev and Dave and everyone. Really, I could care less about some of the issues, the eyes are the only thing that really gets me and it's only because of my creative use of figures.

If they reuse the sculpt that would be awesome! Its dead on to NP IMO. The arms are the lesser of the issues for me but the eyes just are kind of odd.

The main thing I don't like about the eyes are the limits it puts on me. You'd think a neutral, staring straight ahead portrait would be limiting, but most of the time, I can do any pose/angle and with the right lighting, make it work. With positioned eyes like Leia, Scarface and Padme, there are just only so many ways to capture it before it starts looking awkward.

I agree. I find it much easier for a novice like myself to be able to get poses or pics I like with the staright ahead look than what we got on Padme.

The positive of the posed eyes, like with Leia, is it offers me a challenge to see what I can do. I converted some opinions on Leia with my work, that's my goal with Padme, see if can sell it.

The posed eyes limit what you can do. You can still get good poses, just fewer of them.

Exactly, about 50% of what you could do with straight forward eyes. Like I said, they're not a ruining factor, just an inhibiting one.

I just hope it doesn't become a trend with the SW women, Leia Hoth is my main wanted Leia and I'd like that with normal eyes, and I'd like a film based Padme with normal eyes.

Mine just arrived.

This thing looks A LOT better than the pictures had me fearing, posed eyes and all.

I still want a repaint and will replace the fugly black cape string, but I'm quite happy with how she turned out.

And Trevor's sculpt is one of the best in the line, imho. Right up there with his Old Ben. :rock

Mine arrived today as well...I echo the sentiments that she's actually quite nice in person...

The protrait on the one I received is fine...yes, the eyes are a bit off-putting with the sidelong glance, but she looks good.

It's been a long road for Sideshow with this figure, and the end result is something different for the collection. Congrats to Trev for a nice sculpt and to the team for pulling off a difficult design challenge for this style of character as a 1:6 figure...

Nice JB, nothing beats real snow and ice for shots, oh wait, sunshine and warm temperatures would be nicer :lol

I'm not nearly as mad about the eyes and face as I thought I'd be based on the pics.

The biggest issues were the arms and the holster.

I have fixed the arms by cutting about 1/4" off the forarms of the buck, then reattaching the gloves without the peg as it no longer needs the peg since the area right below the elbow is wide enough to keep the gloves from falling off.

Much improved.

The holster is really poor (as it is with both Bespin figs). I just think SSC should really try harder here. If it takes molding something in plastic, do it, but the glue 2 pieces of stiff leather together thing doesn't do it for me.

I have to agree. I had problems with my Bespin Luke's holster and this one, imho, is much worst.:monkey4 I think they should rethink these or try for a better quality construction. Although, I loved the "force magic magnet" in the Bespin holster. This added feature with a longer flap would have really improved the holster for me.

Both Han and Luke's belt themselves as well as the strap have worked well for me. The glue job "holding" it together doesn't work and its not exactly nice to look at either.
