So I'm going to try and sell some comic books I collected during the 1990's at a toy show this Saturday.

I looked through a price guide and these are low/fair values of what I came up with on comics that are in NM condition.

I've only listed those of interest that were above $5, box is also full of many $1-$2 comics.

Am I in the ballpark?

These prices were from a comic buyers guide price book. None of them are CGC graded but all in NM condition, as I collected them as a teen and they've sat in a box since.

I don't want to disappoint you but most comics from the early 90s are not worth much. They were way over printed. You can find many of the comics you have listed in the .25 bins.

Yeah, I kind of figured as much. Which is why I'm thinkng about putting a sign "half of marked price on the box". But that's the sort of advice I am looking for, so I don't waste anyone's time.

Price guides are so ridiculously out of touch. Those prices make me :rotfl

go to ebay and look those issues up using the completed auctions search for their actual value.

sad how much the value of comics has dropped

Comics are a dead artform. Sales are stagnant mostly thanks to video games. Less and less comics are being printed and sold... what used to be sold in the millions is now being sold in the low hundreds of thousands.

That could mean that now is a good time to collect. Comics in the 90s are worthless because of the huge print runs. 20-30 years from now today's comics could be worth something...or they could be a cheap, abundant supply of toilet paper.

yeah, looks like i'll definately be using a sign that says "half of marked price." Thats a shame. Many of these aren't even worth the cover price then.

But I seriously thought I could get at least $10 for a first appearance of carnage.

Honestly collecting took a serious value hit with the emergence of ebay! It eliminated the search and so lowered the value. Now rare is defined as the global total of an item as opposed to the "local" availability.

I have about 5000 comics that are just sitting in the boxes taking up valuable real estate. Wish I had the energy to list them for sale or the balls to just throw them out.:(

Yeah, sad but comics from that time are not even worth the trouble to sell most times. Instead of chucking them you could always donate them to a charity or a shelter for kids.

You could save on the cash used for TP. Just crumple up the pages alot for softness. Especially the covers....OUCHY !!!!

+++++++++++++1

If all you'll get is $10 for the lot, might as well be a nice guy and donate them for Toys for Tots or something.

The only comics I pick up are the various 70's horror comics. You can get em very cheap and they are great reads.

I'd love to find a big lot of Ultraverse comics for cheap. I liked the characters of that company.

Hey Mesa,

Where is the toy show this weekend? I live in Phoenix.
