Sorry I havent been able to update more frequent but I work in healthcare and have been stuck at work all week never really had a chance to chime in.

Rainman told me that it has to be his figures only. It can be a head and clothes set build up or full figures. I'm pretty sure that means that his head sculpts can also be used but only his. I will have to verify that part for sure but I know he just wants these pictures to be a celebration of his work by his fans.

I'll update again as soon I speak with him. Hope that helps a little.

Hmmm.. again not sure but I wouldn't think the Grove heads would fly, if any exception it might be the Sosa heads because it was an official collaboration but remember Rainman just art directed the outfit on that as he has his own set of tailors. If it was one of the ones that Rainman himself painted then I'm sure it would be totally fine. I think Marty's probably a safe bet as long as it's not the Trev heads.

I would guess because we post these on his site, if you bought it there, it counts. If you didn't then it doesn't count.

That's my reasoning.

Man !--- SEVEN (7) pages of "I don't understand" "Does this or that qualify ?"
Seems to me since this is RAINMAN only, there is limited possibilities and not much room for "creativity" Basically who has the best camera and can take the best pics of my (his) work.
GREAT prize, but not a particularly "AWESOME" contest.

It's a great prize I'd love to score a Country Man... but sorry I totally disagree there is "not much room for creativity" and that the guy with the best camera wins. There is so much more to taking a great photo, creativity comes from within. The less you have it actually forces you to be more creative.

If you own one piece from Rainman, hell even if it's just a head you can win this contest. Just make it about RAINMAN, It's a celebration of the man's work, why would anyone expect that you should be able to submit photos otherwise?

Rainman captures so much soul in his work, all you have to do is find a creative and fun way to celebrate that, you need very little to tell a great visual story with a photo when you are dealing with Rianman's creations because they are all there. There has been some very cool photos submitted already, many with just one figure but many have soul.

Any limitations are not within the contest it's from within the contestant. So go inside yourself, dig deep, think outside of the box and make some cool art!

While the possibilities may be slim especially depending how many Rainman pieces you own, I beg to differ on the creativity. There's plenty of room to do whatever you like. Its all in your mind! These are poseable figures and with that you have many great possibilities!

Listen to my man Ray. He speaks the truth.

I can use my RAINMAN Tuco outfit with the RAINMAN Tuco head I painted. If I use my RAINMAN painted Angel Eyes head, is it ok to us the AJ clothiers outfit he's wearing ? Uh Oh, I guess the Scott Peterson Blondie would probably disqualify me.
Look forward to seeing you guys creativity

damm it I did the 1st upload so fast I hit the button twice :thud:and I cant remember what I used as a password. Damm it :slap

I agree with the spirit of your post, but regarding this specific comment, there is the possibility to make an artistic statement, to create humor, or just to tell stories using different characters that you can't do with Rainman's works alone. And that could provide a way to celebrate Rainman's work in a fashion that can't be done simply using those figures he has released that folks may own. The constraints are what they are, and maybe they will force folks to be more creative in some ways, but the options for creativity are necessarily limited when you can't juxtipose a figure with an icon like Superman or Darth Vader, do a comedic shot of Pee Wee with Mr. Bean or the Monty Python guys, show Bill the Butcher taking on an army of special forces troops, etc.

Not to keep at this, but remember this is about Rainman's work. He is offering up some serious gifts to see how some of the people who support him and his work, can capture it. This isn't about the "image" its about his work and celebrating it in our own creative way. Lets face it, this is only for the people that support him. If you have only one figure then you will be limited compared to those that own all of them. And to be honest, that's how it should be.
